It works!
My Ford dealer diagnosed a faulty TCU but the part was backordered for 6 months. I was past the extended warranty period so no priority. I decided to try this option. The TCU installed in 30 minutes. It was noisy for about 3 minutes. I completed the training period without issues. It has been working great for two weeks. I did not need to get it programmed. Ford Focus 2012 drop in installation.

Did not work at all.
My local Ford dealer installed this TCM since my 2017 Focus was already there with a different, non-working TCM it in from a previous install two weeks ago. The tech could not get the TCM programmed, let alone even recognized by the programming computer. I know Ford has an issue with manufacturing TCM's and we all have to look to after market manufacturers, but if I'm gonna spend $400 bucks on one, I expect it to work. Buy at your own risk. I've returned both TCM's for refund. Also, you only have 30 days to return these for a refund from Amazon. After that, you're S.O.L.

It works, what else is there to say
Took a gamble as my daughter has a 2011 Fiesta with the DSP6 transmission. Lost reverse and half the forward gears - P087A and P287A, lucky us. I swapped the actuators, no luck. I tried the tricks to clean and get the lower clutch fork assembly to move and it was stuck. When I finally got it to move, it stripped the gears. From what I read, if there is a mechanical problem, it may not be the TCM and just replacing parts may work. I pulled the transmission, cleaned everything up, replaced the shaft seals, both clutch fork assemblies and the clutch pack since it was out. Put it all back together and still no reverse and same codes.Based on the reviews, I was hesitant on buying a "new" one from China, but figured this was listed as programmed and it was Amazon Prime, so if it didn't work I would just return it. It arrived today at 12:48, gathered things together, pulled air box, battery, battery tray and current TCM. Put new TCM in, buttoned everything up, turned the key to on (don't start), shifted to Neutral, waited about 15 seconds as the transmission clicked through everything, display said Transmission Ready, turned the key and it started right up. No more engine light, car moved both in Drive and Reverse. Cleaned up all my tools and was done by 2:18.Original clutch parts and TCM lasted 150k miles, hoping to get some more miles out of the car now as everything else is perfect. I have (will call Monday and cancel) my name on the list for an OEM TCM, but it would be $900 plus programming fee - if it ever showed up.

Did not have to use scantool
It took a few times for it to program to the car. Follow the directions and you won't have to have it programmed by dealer. But be patient.

Not enough time
Ordered item, had to have technicians at shop do the programming they are behind very slow to get to it. Looks like the item is defective and my return window has closed. This is not fair at all considering the backlog of shops and other services these days. This item I paid extra for apparently for no reason. Now I am stuck with a defective useless TCM that I didn't have time to verify with the shop. What can we do about this?

Worked out of box
Several things were great except the price. 1) Unit for Ford focus is hard to find because of problems - factory programming was there. 2) It included manual TCU relearn instructions 3) Used a Launch diagnostic programmer for transmission relearn, that worked fine too. 3) Reprogrammed it with a better firmware (GH) but no complaints with the factory (GB) version it had, worked fine. 4) I also had a used one for cheaper but you really need to use either Factory Ford software or Forscan and pay for use.

It worked great for a few weeks
The TCM worked for a few weeks and then started stuttering again. I was so disappointed. It was installed and worked right away. I went to return it, the only option available was to send it back for a refund, no replacement option. đ It said I would receive a refund within 7 days of them receiving the item. It was 18 days today. I contacted the seller and they replied : contact Amazon. I contacted Amazon (which was a huge pain just to find the chat where I could chat with a human being) she said that I will receive my refund within 3 to 5 business days. I should not have had to go thru all that, especially when it said within 7 days from when they received it. Since then, we also figured out that the clutches were bad thru some you tube videos. We changed them and test drove it around the block. Everything was perfect, except I cannot drive it more until I get a new wheel bearing, hub, spindle assembly. I need to test this for a while to know if I need to order another TCM. This company warrantees this item for a year but I'd be nervous on whether or when they would honor or send the replacement after all I've gone thru with the refund. I cannot say for sure if it was the parts fault or not but it's funny that it worked good for 2 weeks, after the re-learn of the transmission. During the re-learn (first 5 or 6 days) it had a slight shudder.

Identification/sticker removed - refurb?
Dealer said it would be a year for an OEM from dealer. Took a chance on this at over $900CDN.Installed fine, problems I had with not being able to start the car are gone, but still need to teach the TCM. It's going to take time. Feels better, though noticed some new idle issues that I hope don't become a problem.Only real issue is that all the identification was clearly ground off, and there was sticker residue in the same spot my original had a sticker. I added pictures.I'm worried this is just a refurbished unit and I'll end up in a similar situation down the road. Bought the 2 year warranty through Amazon. If it lasts over two years, then money well spent.
