I've recently had our outbuilding refurbished and now have a lovely long bench for potting and pottering. I'd been looking for a tray for compost to help keep the bench clean and clear. These mats are a cheaper alternative, being plastic sheets which fasten at the corners with poppers. The large sheet is too wide for my bench, but the smaller side fits very well, comfortably holds 25 litres of compost and is actually really useful. The miniature tools less so, but my friend's child will love them I'm sure.Great idea overall.

Mat is smaller than I had expected so doesn't keep thinsg totally mess free but is a really great alternative if you dont have a garden to do things like repotting.

These mats are really useful to me. Whether they are as useful to you will depend on how you work and the space you have.Each mat is strong and waterproof with poppers on each corner. The poppers are almost identical to the poppers on some of my duvets which have survived years of washing machine washes and use. I see no reason why these wouldn’t last the same provided you don’t leave them outside to freeze or go brittle in the full heat.I am very limited with space and therefore do not have dedicated potting areas / trays etc. Enter these mats. The smaller one lays perfectly on the one table I have in my greenhouse. Lay it flat, popper up the two back corners and I’m away with my seed potting. I will do exactly the same when it’s time to pot on. When I’m done, instead of having to use a dustpan and brush to clean up my table top, I simple pour the excess into a pot, give the mat a wipe and fold it up and put it away.The larger mat is far too big to use in my greenhouse and is currently being used as a second layer on the dining room table where my dear little seedlings are currently hiding from the sudden frost. These sudden changes have been happening more frequently lately and I have therefore commandeered the dining room table for this crucial seedling stage. At 1m x 1m it’s a great size to protect my table as the material is thick and completely waterproof.The cheap plastic tools are fine and occasionally useful but generally superfluous.At £8.99 for the two you really can’t go wrong with these mats in my view as I believe they will last me years.

This is a pack of 2 x gardening mats intended for potting on. They are a bit strange, but not bad. Basically you join across the corners using the press-studs to form a kind of shallow container to retain stray compost etc; allowing you to then transport and tip out onto bed etc.The set comprises 2 x mats. Ironically, one is a little smaller than ideal (but usable), the other rather too large for convenience (in my view). There are also 3 x mini potting tools which are okay for this purpose.On the basis of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’, I have to admit to finding this a rather retrograde step from what I already use, a plastic potting tray that’s perfect, and something I use all the time. Easy to use, strong and rigid, ideal for placement where you want, and no awkwardness in carrying as with these mats. You can also use to carry your potted seeds to your greenhouse etc; which you can’t do with these. Also, the poppers feel as though after some use, they may split from the plastic.All in all, these are okay, not what I would call the best solution for potting, but they can at least be folded and put in a drawer. I’m afraid they won’t be relegating my Wilko potting tray any time soon. Reasonable value.I hope you have found this helpful.

Waterproof Planting Operation Mat £9.99This potting mat set is such a great idea! It’s so simple but so effective, you wonder why it’s not been done before (or if it has I haven’t seen it). The concept is so simple. In the pack you receive 1 x small and 1 x large potting mat, which is effectively waterproof tarpaulin, with bias bound edges, clipped in each corner with press studs that then form an enclosed space to pot on with no fear of soil or compost getting anywhere - brilliant!This mat set means you can pot inside in your table comfortably without worry of spillage, and when you’re done you just unclip one corner and pour any residual back into the compost bag. Utterly brilliant idea in my view. At £9.99 this set is well worth the money, and you also get a small mini plant tool set as an added extra - not the best quality tools but as a freebie there’s nothing to complain about.A hearty five stars from me, every gardener, novice or experienced, young or old should have this set, it’s just SO handy!

Das TIANHOO-Umtopfmatten-Set besteht aus zwei Folienmatten in den Größen 66x66cm und 100x100cm und drei kleinen Gartenwerkzeugen. Geliefert wird es kompakt verpackt in einer dünnen Plastikverpackung.Die Matten sind aus Gewebefolie, die man von Abdeck-/Allzweckplanen kennt. Jede Folie hat in den Ecken Druckknöpfe aus Plastik, so dass durch das Schließen der Druckknöpfe rundherum ein ca. 10cm hoher Rand entsteht. Dieser sorgt dann dafür, dass Erde, die beim Umtopfen von Pflanzen "daneben" fällt, auf der Matte bleibt.Das Mini-Gartenwerkzeugset besteht aus zwei unterschiedlich breiten Schaufeln und einer kleinen Harke. Die Stiele sind aus Holz, das eigentliche Werkzeug aus Metall. Der Einsatz dieses Gartenwerkzeugs ist sicherlich von der Größe her auf kleinere Pflanzen beschränkt, es ist zu klein, um damit z.B. einen Blumenkasten mit Erde zu befüllen. Für das Umtopfen von Pflanzen in kleine Behälter/Töpfe ist es aber gut geeignet.Mir gefällt die Idee mit dem Rand sehr gut, da man dadurch selbst auf der Terrasse beim Umtopfen noch weniger "Dreck" hinterlässt. Ich topfe jedes Jahr eine größere Anzahl an Blumen und Setzlingen um und habe dafür sogar einen Pflanztisch. Dennoch war das bisher immer noch mit ausreichend Nachbearbeitungszeit verbunden, denn auch der Pflanztisch muss gesäubert werden und natürlich fällt auch ausreichend Erde auf den Boden. So muss man danach Kehren und ggf. sogar den Schlauch bemühen. Mit den Matten entfällt dies weitgehend, denn man kann nun auf den Matten umtopfen, durch den Rand bleibt die daneben fallende Erde auf der Matte und man kann sie anschließend umweltschonend auf der Wiese oder in Blumenbeeten "entsorgen". Die Terrasse bleibt sauber und auch die auf die Matte gefallene Erde bleibt relativ sauber, da man eben nicht mehr kehren muss, was immer damit verbunden ist, dass man auch Split oder Steine oder sonstiges mit der Erde zusammen kehrt.Die Matten kann man nach dem Umtopfen einfach abfegen oder mit etwas Wasser abspritzen und wieder platzsparend zusammenlegen. Somit sind sie auch für das Umtopfen in der Wohnung oder auf dem Balkon gut geeignet.Das Gartenwerkzeug-Set benötige ich nicht unbedingt, da ich schon eine große Ausstattung an Gartenwerkzeugen in allen möglichen Größen habe. Es wird sich aber sicherlich eine Gelegenheit zum Einsatz finden, für mich wäre es aber kein Kaufargument gewesen. Wer aber noch kein Gartenwerkzeug dieser Art hat, der kann es sicherlich gebrauchen. Genauso ist es aufgrund der Größe auch gut für kleinere Kinder geeignet.Qualitativ macht die Schaufeln und die Harke einen brauchbaren Eindruck, es ist aber kein qualitativ hochwertiges Gartenwerkzeug. Die Lebensdauer könnte bei sehr häufigem Gebrauch durchaus eingeschränkt sein. Mehr kann man aber sicherlich bei einem Preis von 10,99€ nicht erwarten.Ich gebe dem Set 5 Sterne!
