Very tropical. We offer free heat packs, but no shipping into areas where the daytime highs are below freezing. This one is a lovely species orchid native to Indonesia in the Molucca Archipelago and in the Toli Toli district near Djangdjang on Sulawesi (Celebes) Island. These are large seedlings freshly potted in sphagnum moss in 3-inch pots. They can bloom when quite small, and if we can find one in spike, we'll send you that one. One recent award winner (a mature plant) had 29 flowers and 3 buds on 6 inflorescences! A natural spread of 5 to 6 cm is common. One award winner was described by the judges like this: "...flat, slightly open flowers on two inflorescences; sepals and petals yellow, heavily barred chestnut with white central halo; lip white, splashed red on sides of isthmus; substance heavy; texture matte." The ones we have are from a seed cross made with very nice but not awarded parents. We have a bunch of these and we always ship the largest. You can buy with confidence. How long they take to produce flowers.
I liked that it appeared quite healthy. Least was that they are so slow growing..I have never had a seedling before .It is doing quite well though and putting out some Airial roots.
