Very portable
Picked this up for Black fishing. Using lower attachment point for main line and a zip tie up top so if I get snagged I can get it out. Seems to work just as good as the welded rebar anchors I’ve made but more storable and less hazardous since they collapse down.

Works Incredible at Keeping Boat in place
A Grapnel anchor is my new favorite style. Tried one as a test, worked so well, got a 2nd.Our anchor locker is way to small for a Danforth. Dumb boat design for a 26 footer to not be able to store an anchor large enough to hold the boat in place.Enter this anchor. Added 6ft of chain and a shackle and the anchor(s) bite in sand, rocks, mud and weeds and never move. I even bought sailing gloves to be able to pull hard enough on the line to free it from the bottom.Where we hang out in the Detroit River big freighters go by they draw so much water from the cove that many boats break loose or spin around. Not us! The lines get taunt and the seaweed lays down from the rush of water, but we never move.Glad I tried this! Stores well and easy to use.

Catches First Time EVERY Time!!
Our old anchor for a 23' ski boat was just too small and we always struggled to get it caught on the lake bottom. We finally got tired of that, so we bought this anchor. We've used it about a dozen times now and it has caught on the first throw EVERY time! It's heavier than the old anchor, so it's a bit more work to throw and haul back into the boat, but well worth it. When you're leaving your spot on the water, run over the top of the anchor spot to get it to release - that's a LOT easier than yanking it to get it to release. Love this anchor and just wish I had bought it a long time ago! Highly recommend.

Good value. May need to make a couple simple mods
This is a great little anchor for my fishing canoe. It holds me much better than a concrete filled coffee can. I did need to flatten the end one of the leaf rivets so that the leaf would not be lost. I also safety wired the shackle. Nice value for the money if one does a good inspection and tunes up the construction.

A must have
This is a must have on the lake and work well in the bay!

Thumbs down
Even though I knew the weight of what I had ordered I was still surprised to see how small this actually was. I ordered this for our big floats for my kids to jump off of in our pond but unfortunately it was not strong enough to hold them down and seemed cheaply made.

Light weight anchor
Takes awhile to grab in a river or lake but once it sets it holds. Folds fairly flat. Good for light weight boat use.

Excellent anchor but recommend adding 1/4” X 4’ chain.
Works great for fishing from rental boats . I also purchased the Amazon Seachoice 1/4” x 4’ long chain. Anchor holds a 14’ or 16’ aluminum boat in 8 to 10 mph wind in rock, sand or clay bottoms easily .

Works as expected
I used it as an anchor for my ~9 foot long inflatable raft. It works as expected and I like how the spikes can be "hidden" before I pull it into my boat. It's not too heavy either as I have to lift it out of the water with my arms outstretched (I don't want to rub the anchor line against the side of my raft). I will probably get another one for the bow to prevent my raft from rotating in the wind.

Works
Dam pontoon is just to big for this anchor. Need about twice a big.
