Smoky, spicy snap. A little goes a long way.
Was curious to try this after seeing it as an ingredient in a recipe. Pleasantly surprised by the smoky, spicy snap it adds to fish tacos and guacamole. The 2oz bag is about a 1/2 cup of seasoning. A little goes a long way, so I have plenty to experiment with in my kitchen.

Like being in back in South America!!
Delicious authentic flavor. We put it on chicken on the grill with a side of cilantro rice and black beans. Super yummy summer meal!

This product is a FAKE!
I have the real merken spice that I brought home from Chile (Santiago’s downtown marketplace)...THIS HERE IS FAKE!! I couldn’t taste any smoke, any heat, or any merken flavor... at all!!! I only tasted paprika and oregano (not ingredients found in authentic Chilean merken!!! I spent $12 for two ounces of spice I could pay $2.50 at the store.Steer away from this fake product!

MMMM good
Great spice. That little something extra. Not like other chili spices. Unique on its own. Try it in ceviche.

Flavorful, but a Little Hot
Chilean Merquen Seasoning (or Merken) is an interesting and flavorful spice. The peppers are a bit hot, so be careful if your palate is sensitive. I've used this on "Chilean Bar Food," which is french fries, eggs, onions, and sliced beef. It's recipe name is "Chilean Chorrillana." Fast, flavorful, and easy. Merquen (or Merken) will have a place in my kitchen.
