These boots in the XL size are closer to a size 15, but because they are also pretty wide, you can fill the space with thick boot socks and/or absorbant insoles. Because the vinyl does not breathe, this is an excellent thing!These boots were purchased for a size 13 double-wide foot with no arch, and they fit well with plenty of room (1" of extra boot toe at the end, and plenty of width for the wide foot + thick socks). The totally flat inner footbed is also great, since you can put in an arch-supportive insole, or a flat one if you do poorly with arch supports. The calf is big enough for large and muscular legs, and the shaft is stiff enough that the ankle does not slouch.The inside feels pretty smooth, though unlined. The vinyl is very thick, like real cowhide leather. Instead of being a thin flimsy vinyl with easily-torn top coating, this stuff seems pretty rugged. The buckles look great and not "costumey", and all of the stitching and glue work look as good as any leather boot I've purchased for under $300. The tread on the bottom is subtle looking, but substantial so it doesn't ruin the look of the boot while letting you grip the ground. The zipper is a visible black line, but not glaring.The black color is not black, but clearly charcoal grey. If you need jet black, you will not want these.

I love the look, great quality

Product is great, material seems a little thin but overall the look and fit was perfect. I wear 12.5 wide work boots, 13 shoe and higher arch. I was concerned about the fitment of the boots due to reading other reviews. I elected to go with the 12-13. They fit perfect. May be a little snug if I put insoles inside but they felt comfortable just trying them on. We shall see after wearing them a while. I decided to give 4 stars due to the way they are packaged. A very sturdy box with company logo is not the problem however due to the fact that these boots are higher and thinner material they were folded in half and the ones I received were creased where they were folded. Recommended to ship in a longer box that allows them to be laying flat. They were wrapped in tissue paper between each boot and that helped protect the boots. I placed the air bubble packaging that came inside the amazon box inside the boots to stand them up and tried smoothing the creases. I will have to see if the creases come out. Additionally remember that these boots do have a zipper on the inseam and may not be as authentic if that is the look you are going for. As for material inside the boots, it is soft on your legs but your feet may sweat in these they don't breathe the greatest. Not a big deal if you only wear these once in a while. Not sure how they do multiple hours and days...Overall satisfied with the purchase.

As good as these boots look on screen, they are even better in real life. My son also says they fit well and are comfortable and easy to put on. I bought them for him to wear when he does Life Action Roll Playing, and they are perfect.

My biggest concern was with the fit of the product and quality. My shoe size is averages out to being about an 8.5 so I got the the one marked 8-9 which fits me very well. It there is a little bit of room in the toe area but if you are a true size 9 this might be tight for you. I feel like I have about average calves (maybe a tad on the smaller side) and they fit me snugly. Maybe I just lucked out with this particular shoe but it really fit me like a charm. I got these for a RenFaire and wore these for an entire day and didn't have any issues with breaking the shoes in. Again if I was a true size 9 they might have a rougher break in period. as far as quality goes they really are fantastic they have so far held up two full days of intense wear and show no signs of breaking down on me. They are not obviously not real leather but the quality of the texture is such that it is hard to tell from even a small distance. They don't have any real arch support but that isn't an issue. A lot of the time if you go cheap you pay in quality but these boots are well worth the cost. I would definitely recommend these, however, I would be careful with the sizing. Mine do seem to be a standard 8.5 which works great for me. If you can get a size that will fits well these are great shoes.

This is a very nice and inexpensive costume prop. The shoe size worked for me using the sizing chart however the top of the boot is so tight around my calves that it is impossible to tuck anything into them. I will probably have to have them altered to add elastic to one side of the zipper.

I purchased this for a pirate outfit. I wear a size 10 shoe so I got the corresponding boot size on the chart. The fit on my foot is perfect and comfy however I cannot fully zip up the boot because my calves are too big for it at the top. even pulling out my pants from the boot there isnt quite enough space to make the zippers all the way up. Its a shame because they look great and feel fantastic on my actual feet.

I absolutely loved them upon getting them, they were really comfortable, fit perfectly, and didn't make my feet too warm or cold. I am speaking in the past tense as unfortunately, my dog got at them and chewed through the zip... :(
