I initially was a Hue bulb user but I had multiple quirks so I completely dumped them and switched over to the Kasa Bulbs. Reason I picked the Kasa Bulbs over others was because I already had some Kasa Switches and Kasa Plugs so I didn't want another App and another eco system to worry about. Also, my existing Kasa stuff works perfectly. With that said, here's my reviewProsApp is simple and straight forward (see negative)They work with Google, Alexa, IFTTT, and Smart Things (no Apple Homekit) so I'm not tied to a single smart systemBrightness is great. Brighter than my Hues (1000 lumen bulb)No Hub neededFast response. When I turn on or off the lights, or even change brightness/color, it's pretty much immediate - my friend has Feint Electric bulbs, and there is like a 3-5 second delayI can control lights remotely - when I'm away from home I can see status of the lightsPrice - 2 pack of Hue is $100 (not including hub). 2 pack of Kasa, about $30Setup is super easy (see negative)NegativesThe app being simple is a negative. Coming from the Hue app, Kasa app is super basic. While you can get it to do pretty much everything you could do in the Hue app, it's a lot of manual setup. Example: Hue has a ton of pre-setup scenes like night 'Misty Morning', etc. Whereas Kasa has 3 basic scenes to start. You can definitely 'recreate' any Hue scene in the app, but it's a lot of work.(small gripe) Continuing with, app, the home screen should be quick access to things (more grouping of icons). Example: Hue has all the scenes at the top and lights below that. So once you go in to the app, it's one click to change scenes or to turn off/on a light. In Kasa, it's extra click or additional scrolling to accomplish the same thingAnd then there are no add-ons like Hue to make the lights more fun and dynamic. Like on New Year, I could set Hue lights to 'Firework' and that was cool. There is zero dynamic modes with KasaTo go along with the 'fun' topic. You can link your Hue up media device and have it changes colors while it plays (music, tv). There is nothing in the Kasa ecosystem right now that does that.Setup can be annoying because the app can be confusing during setup. (see below for easy headache free setup)No Apple Homekit supportIFTTT - does not support triggers, only actions.While I'm going to miss some things about the Hue lights, I'm not going to miss the headaches. Hue lights are more 'fun' (just don't expect no issues), but if you want lights that just work, have great brightness, color selection and are a fraction of the price of Hue, I highly suggest the Kasa bulbsPre-setup notesIf you are connected to a vpn on your phone or using AdGuard, disable it before you startRequire 2.4Ghz WiFi. Will not connect to 5Ghz. On your phone connect to your 2.4Ghz WiFi before you startIf you have more than 1 bulb to install, do 1 at a time. I love the Kasa Smart Bulb! It was incredibly easy to set up and works perfectly with my Alexa and Google Assistant. The app is user-friendly, and I can control the lights from anywhere, even when I’m not home.The color options and brightness settings are a game-changer—I can create the perfect mood whether I’m working, relaxing, or watching a movie. Plus, scheduling the lights to turn on or off automatically has made my life so much easier.Reliable, affordable, and packed with features. High speed Internet was FINALLY brought into my rural area a few months ago, and since then, I've been on a mission to make my home as smart as possible. I started off with Amazon Basics white smart bulbs for my living room. Unfortunately, they flicker horribly when dimmed even a fraction, and sometimes they flicker even at maximum brightness. It's beyond irritating. For that reason alone, when I saw Kasa bulbs being offered with the Echo Dot (and on sale by themselves), I wound up with five of them. They arrived quickly. I had to wait a few days before attempting set up (because life), but when I was finally able to get around to it, I followed another reviewer's suggestion and set them up one at a time. The set up was really simple and straightforward, and is pretty similar to the set up that other manufacturers of smart devices use. I've done that many times over now, so for me, it was a fairly intuitive process that became more efficient with each bulb that I set up. However, if this is your first time setting up a smart device and you describe yourself as technically challenged, it may take until your third bulb before you find the set up process simple.I used all five of my bulbs for my dining room light fixture with my intent being to create separate groups: one for the bulbs in the main part of my fixture, and another for the lights that are outside of that - thus, enabling me to control the bulbs in the different parts of the fixture independently of each other. I also wanted to set up a couple of actions so that my lights would: 1) come on automatically at dusk at 1% brightness, and 2) go off automatically at 11 PM every night. This was a bit more difficult (IMO) than it should be, as the app isn't as easy or intuitive to navigate. I did figure it out, but I anticipate that the next time that I want to do something similar, I'm going to have to spend time figuring it out again. I familiarized myself with adjusting the color temperature, color wheel, and brightness, and that part is pretty simple, too, but it would be even easier if there were a simple option within the app to re-set your bulb to factory settings if you get too lost in your color selections (it's still pretty easy, but it could be made super simple with one click). The app is a bit limited with what you can accomplish, which is disappointing. For instance, if you wanted to do a color show (like red and green for Christmas), with some kind of special effect (like fade in/out, chasing, pulsed, etc.,), it doesn't appear possible, but it *should* be, since other bulb manufacturers in this category offer this within their app and the functionality of the bulbs all appear to be identical; this should be made available with an app update by Kasa ::fingers crossed:: I really hope that they add this because it's literally the only criticism that I have, and it's more of an app limitation because the bulbs should be physically capable of this already.I've been using these bulbs for about a week, and even at 1% brightness, they do NOT flicker. This is a huge improvement over the bulbs that I have in my living room, so my long term plan is to replace those with Kasa bulbs when they eventually die a natural death. The quality of light at 1% inspired my five-star rating, and they're so good (thus far) that I just couldn't ding them a star for the limitations of the app. I'd definitely repurchase and if it were in my budget, I'd replace every bulb in my house that I could use a smart bulb in with one of these right now.

I enjoy these bulbs! They add a touch of spa-like ambience to my home. I love that the colors are very easily adjusted on the app and can be either colored, amber or white lighting.I would give this product five stars if it would turn on circadian mode by itself. I see that that feature is an option, however when I do apply it, it does not work and I have to adjust it in my app each time. If these bulbs manually adjusted to the time of day, this product would be absolutely incredible. It's neat that it does it with the app, but I would prefer to not manually adjust the lighting each day.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Love these smart bulbs, they connect easily, are very durable and last a long time. I love how many different colors they can change to. They work great with Amazon Alexa. I have them all over my house and I’ve been using them for years. I would highly recommend these bulbs over any smart bulbs, and especially over any colored smart bulbs. You will not be disappointed.
