5/20/18:First rate. Not a single problem.Update: 9/27/18Well after using the trimmer a few times it’s now leaking gasoline big time. Changing my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. It does a beautiful job of trimming if you ignore the puddle of gas you are standing in.Update: 10/11/18Replaced Return Grommet and Fuel Pipe and leak appears to be fixed. Leaving at 3 stars since it shouldn’t need to be repaired after only a few uses. It does do a nice job of trimming however.

In the past I have rented a big trimmer from Home Depot whenever I did my own spring yard clean up, trimming and pruning. When I can afford it I hire a service but I missed a year and this year the quotes came in over $2,000 to do the 1st class kind of job I wanted done. So I got together with the local high school kid and decided once again to do it ourselves. Because of my schedule I knew it would have to be done over a couple of weeks and would need a trimmer several days, so rather than run back and forth to HD and rent for close to $40 for 1/2 day or $60 for a full day, I did a little research and decided to give this Tanaka a try. It has been absolutely flawless. Starts up perfect every time and is as good if not better than the units HD rents. I trimmed 8ft high oleander hedges, mock orange, cutting through most all pinkie sized branches with ease, and most importantly cutting down dozens of very large and overgrown ornamental and pampus grasses. The rotating handle is a real plus.

Hedger looked great. However, it would not start. I sent it back and got a refund.

I used this trimmer to top 500 feet of Arbor Vitae hedge this fall. It was wonderful! cut and ease of use is extraordinary. I even dropped the unit from a six foot height onto a concrete walkway and it is undamaged. Cranked right up an finished the last 400 feet without a 'blip'.

I had an electric trimmer but now i entered the pro gear :)Works like a charm, Cuts thick brunches easily.I use 3% oil mixed with 95 petrol , no hicups & easy sturtup.

A little heavy after holding a while. But well worth it. Very nice machine

It can become a little heavy after a while but excellent trimmer. My favorite new tool.
