Value priced, meets or exceeds description, works as advertized and is a value.

I purchase several things on Amazon, and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Seller's have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

Greatly Exceeded Expectations

One of the computers in the house is an older Vista system that had 1GB of RAM. It was slow, like ready-to-throw-out-the-window slow. Choice was replace or try an upgrade. After finding out the type of RAM I would need, I started searching around and came across this little gem.To be blunt, my expectations of such inexpensive memory were not very high. I pictured receiving two green sticks in a box with no protection or proper electronic packaging that would not fit, not work, or anything else you can imagine. I decided I would give it shot and ordered it.The package arrived very fast and looked exactly like they do in the picture. So, I installed them along with the original 512MB sticks the computer came with, giving it a total of 3GB, almost the max for 32-bit systems. They clicked and locked into place perfectly and had no noticeable wiggle in the memory slots.I turned the computer on, half expecting to see it not recognize the full 3GB (2GB set from A-Tech and original 1GB) and to my pleasant surprise, it showed all 3GB. Additionally, and the whole reason I purchased the upgrade, the computer was faster, not a little faster, but a lot faster. It has been about two months now and the memory is still working great, with the computer being used over 4 hours a day. I admit that I can be skeptical, yet I took a chance on this memory, and it has surpassed all of my expectations...it blew them away. I did not give it 5 stars because it is the fastest and the top-rated one out there, I gave it 5 stars because it was far above and beyond what I was expecting for the cost.If you have a computer that you want to get a bit more time out of without spending a ton for new memory, I would recommend giving this one a shot.

1 GB sticks do what's expected, 24 hr Memtest86+ no problems

Bought the 1 GB per stick version:  2GB kit (1GBx2) DDR2 PC2-6400 DESKTOP Memory Modules (240-pin DIMM, 800MHz) Genuine A-Tech Brand For two sets of 1 GB pairs, the speeds matched, timings matched, and no problems detected through a 24 hour run of Memtest86+ (13 passes total through the 4 GB).If you're still reading then I suppose you may not know what you're fully getting (in terms of the product itself). A little backstory, DDR2 has been replaced quickly ever since DDR3 came out like 8 years ago. I don't think any manufacturer makes new DDR2 sticks for that reason, especially with DDR4 soon to repeat that history.Imagine hundreds of thousands of computer towers recycled/scavenged with those DDR2 DIMMs still lying within its chassis. Millions of obsolete sticks in storage boxes. Then for whatever reason, you've now ended up needing DDR2 again because you didn't want to let go of that HP/Dell/Acer/etc tower because "it still worked". It perhaps had 2 or 3 GB inside, and mix and match speeds, might even have been running in Single channel all this time, finally needing to set things right (instead of putting it out to pasture). I had a tower lying around with a AMD Athlon 64 X2, their first dual core CPUs. I had a choice between finding an upgrade to the CPU (which would have made the bigger difference, though not worth the effort), or at least making sure the ram was not the bottleneck (I could not even watch YouTube @ 1080p without hiccups). So what are you getting from "Genuine A-Tech Brand"? Refurbished DIMMs.In my case CPU-Z stated one pair came from lifetimememory, while the other pair is from Nanya (which included serial number/manufacturing date), That's definitely not a problem, ram is ram, so as long as it works at the listed specifications, which it does. After installing and running the checks, definitely a noticeable performance improvement from a 3GB, single channel setup (don't ask). YouTube @ 1080p worked fine at 30 FPS, but it still struggled for a full 60 FPS video (but a remarkable improvement). Netflix at least runs smoothly now, which was my main reason for keeping it and hooking up to a TV. Upgrading ram may not work for all scenarios, but for mine it's no longer ram, but a CPU bottleneck confirmed. Why knock off one star? They put those stickers right on top of the memory modules. For the 2 GB sticks they may have them back/front and is unavoidable, but the 1 GB sticks had an empty backside they could have stuck their stickers on instead. The old DIMMs I pulled out had the stickers peeling off because the stickers were on the modules as well (and these were OEM sticks). Wouldn't warranty be voided if the stickers were removed, even if naturally peeling off? Then again, by that time I hope to not be needing a replacement. 2GB kit (1GBx2) DDR2 PC2-6400 DESKTOP Memory Modules (240-pin DIMM, 800MHz) Genuine A-Tech Brand

Satisfied after initial glitch

My present PC had 2GB's of RAM, with it's 4 slots holding 512 MB's of RAM each. My PC will hold up to 8 GB's of RAM, so I decided to give these a try. I took 2 old modules out and replaced them with these, and left the 2 other modules in there so that my total memory would be 5 GB's. My PC started acting up doing it this way, my startup menu's graphics would become distorted in minutes, though the speed of the PC seemed faster at first. A-Tech emailed me and asked if I was pleased with my purchase, and I told them what problems I was having and what I thought would fix it. The only solution they offered was to replace the modules I ordered from them with faster modules from them for the same price, which was a nice offer but one that wasn't needed. The problem turned out to be that my new RAM modules, even though they have the same specs as the older ones (except for memory size, obviously), don't like working with my older RAM modules. I took the last 2 older RAM modules out, and all the distortions went away. Not sure why the A-Tech spokesman wouldn't have known that doing this would have helped, maybe this is just a problem with my specific computer, though I did read online at several different sites that this is not an uncommon problem when adding RAM. Still, I do appreciate the correspondence from A-Tech, and their memory modules are working fine. I may order another pair, since the price is right and could help even more. Shipping was on time and in good shape.
