Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps reflects the innovation and imagination that have marked each phase of his brilliant career. Together with his band Crazy Horse, Young creates a visually dynamic showcase for his musical treasures, including My My Hey Hey, Sugar Mountain, Comes A Time, Cinnamon Girl, and many other contemporary classics.

I finally got around to watching this last night, and I am quite happy. RNS was my introduction to Neil Young many years ago, on a late night TV show called "Night Flight". Since then I have owned it on VHS and then DVD, and I will aver that this is the best version I've ever seen/owned. Very sharp, clear, and great sound. You must understand that the graininess and crudity is an aesthetic choice to enhance this concert footage, but that said, this is by far the best version I could imagine. I am compelled to say this as a total Neil Young devotee; if you are a fan and are already familiar with this video, you will be very satisfied!

Buy with confidence.
Massive upgrade to the old dvd, both in picture and sound. The visuals are just brighter and cleaner, close up shots are really more detailed. The sound? Top notch. The bass is more detailed, instrument separation, as well as backing vocals, is very noticeable, buttakes nothing away from the guitars and lead vocal.I'd say the only downside is that some of the editing choices, like cutting away to distant backstage or overviews of the stage during some solos, are still a bit mystifying after all these years.Bottomline, if you liked this release before, you'll love it now.

A Typical Neil Show
Purchased this hoping that the sound was going to be better than my old lp record of this concert. I was not disappointed as this was a great performance with great sound. The stage antics of the urchins running around was so typical of Neil as he was never a conformist and does what he wants to do. This was not a distraction. Video was very good. I always want to hear "Cowgirl In The Sand" and "Down By The River" but I guess he was tired of playing them so many times prior. All in all Neil fans will not be disappointed - great concert !

It just doesn't work
Ok, this is now. Got a copy for Christmas 2019 and it starts on the last song. Tried everything possible, still the same. Order again. EXACTLY the same. DO NOT ORDER THIS. I gave it 2 chances. Fool me once.... But dont fool you! Why is one star the lowest?

Not the best
NY was great, but the concert production was a big distraction. Watching those goonies go up and down the stage between songs is a waste of time and just plain silly. Looking forward to another live NY DVD.

Absolute genius
Perfect capture of the time period. Neil at the top of his artistry. You detractors shut it. What are you talking about? Part of a âshowâ. About the same time as the first Star Wars. Sand dudes or what ever they were called. The pure music is absolutely engaging. No blinding lights lasers or fog. Just kick ass music as far as Iâm concerned!!!

Thanks Neil! Your music reaches the parts that matter.
An excellent bit of theatre(very unusual in pop concerts) and the music fabulous. Whether on his own or with Crazy Horse, Neil Young hits the note. Have always loved his music but this concert is something else. Superb! Up there with The Stones in Hyde Park or The Cure in Orange or Fleetwood Mac â76 concert. Real kickass music that polishes the hormones and adds time and joy to life.

Classic 70's concert & film
Bought this when Amazon promoted it as a new release. I remember great reviews of the film when it came out. Thinking I only knew a few NY songs I found I knew nearly all of the songs here. It's a great performance with a curious concept. Picture quality for the time is fine and sound is excellent.

Neil Young at his best, playing many of his acoustic and electric classics. The picture and audio quality is superb and a huge improvement on previous releases. One of rock music's true innovators and an artist with genuine integrity. Wonderful.

Sehr guter Konzertmitschnitt

So geht Fortschritt!

In irgendeinem Kino?
