SilverStone Technology 33Mm Height Low Profile Cpu Cooler For Intel 115X Processors Nt08-115Xp

Bought this to cool an Intel Xeon E2176 processor I'm using for a server. It fits very well inside the micro ATX case and is whisper queit.

This is a nice low profile cooler which I am using with an Asus H410T/CSM thin mini itx motherboard paired with an Intel Core i5-10400T CPU placed in a very small and thin Silverstone PT13 case. With the 10400T's lower TDP of 35W, the temperatures on idle are around 32c to 37c in an ambient of 30c while at full load on prime95's max power test, it goes up to at most 75c. On idle, the fan is also very nearly silent and I have to listen really closely to hear it. On full load, it does become fairly audible though.Out of curiousity, I bumped up the TDP of the CPU to reach that of a regular 65W CPU and did some testing. The fan becomes quite loud and spins really fast, faster than I expected for a fan like this. Temperatures were also reaching 80c to 85c. It does get quite warm, with a 65W CPU, hence why I suggest using 35W TDP CPUs instead, mainly so that the fan won't spin as fast and thereby reducing noise.Installation is easy enough, though you need to take the motherboard out to place the mounting bracket at the back of the motherboard. Instructions were clear and easy to follow and a tube of thermal paste is included for your convenience.Overall, it's a great cooler best used with Silverstone's PT13 thin mini-itx case.

Using on a Gigabyte LGA 1150 Intel Q87 vPro Dual LAN SO-DIMM Memory slots UEFI DualBIOS Mini ITX DDR3 1600 Motherboard (GA-Q87TN) with Intel Core i5-4590S BX80646I54590S Processor (6M Cache, 3.3 GHz). The 23mm meant that the additional headroom in a Silverstone Tek Aluminum Top Cover/Steel Body Thin Mini-ITX Media Center/HTPC Case PT13B - Black was about 3mm. Installation was a breeze. It is quiet at low/medium/high (1600/2000/2800 rpm). The backplate is not metallic, and I was worried it would be as there are a lot of components and exposed legs under the mobo. I checked out the Akasa AK-CC7124EP01 which appeared almost identical but it didn't have a backplate, no copper core, and more importantly nowhere to be found. Cooler performance was so so, and to be expected for a cooler of this size. Temps at idle was about 50-55C with Arctic Silver tim on medium speed, going on hi did not help much. For my intended use, ie media playback and light computing it's adequate.Update 10/24/15. Performance has improved as the tim set in. Idle temperature at 41C, extended load at 49C. Still very quiet, I have to put my ear right up to the case to hear it. Bumping it up from 4 to 5 stars.

I have this cooling an i5-9600K sitting in a Silverstone SG13 mini-ITX case (so: a case from the same manufacturer as this fan). There also is a 140mm case fan which is the largest that one can put in this particular case.CPU temperature as measured by "CPU Thermometer" hits 88-92Celsius during a Cinebench R15 run. All-core turbo boost is 4.3 GHz. This is at a room temperature of 25-26 Celsius. Now I accept that the case is very small and extremely crowded, but the reason I bought this cooler was specifically because it was advertised as low-profile for small cases.Also, the bolts on this cooler interfere with one of the RAM slots on my mini-ITX motherboard, preventing the use of that RAM slot.
