Very dubious that this is authentic Himalayan salt!
I’m very dubious of this salt it is the texture of talcum powder and almost artificially pink … dare I say dyed ! I very much doubt this is authentic Himalayan salt I’m afraid… do not purchase!!!!

We won't be buying it
This is quite odd on the face of it. Opening the packet, I found what appeared to be a quantity of slightly damp builders sand and in the centre was a hard lump about the size of a toddler's fist. I left the packet open for a couple of days and the consistency was more like table salt, certainly nothing you'd put in a grinder. My wife buys Himalayan salt regularly and she found this to taste as salty as she would expect but this brand is quite a bit pinker than the one she's used to and it doesn't dissolve as quickly or as much. Using half a teaspoon in half a glass of water, her regular salt quickly dissolved down to a few visible grains and a slightly clouded water. This brand did not seem to have dissolved at all in the same time and settled on the bottom of the glass in a layer that looked exactly like pink sand, whilst the water still remained largely clear an hour later. Very odd. I'm also uneasy about what the reality of the claim that it is "hand mined" actually means.

Not Coarse - Salty Talc
Described as coarse salt, I thought I could use it to replace my coarse table salt. This is as fine as talcum powder, but with a strong taste.Being as fine as it is, this makes measuring quite interesting. A teaspoon of 'normal' coarse salt weighs almost half again as a teaspoon of this powder. So you might be adding an incorrect amount of salt when using this.It is the pink colour of the more recognisable Himalyan Sea Salt, but looks more like something swept off the floor in the factory.

Not stunned
Very dark powder, and part of it was caked in a lump. OK but there is an odd underlying taste, so that was a failed experiment. Will stick to fresher seasalt!

Pretty salt
It's ok in flavour but tastes more like and looks a little like table salt but pink and texture is slightly gritty, I thought it would be more like a sea salt, it's also pre grounded so good if you don't have a salt grinder, a little confusing if you do and add it thinking it needs it like I did to then have it poor out of the salt grinder and not grind at all. Overall tastes good and looks pretty.

Disappointing flavour and need twice as much for seasoning
The salt is contained inside a very large foil pack with re-sealable top. I found the pack very difficult to open and when i managed to do so, the salt only filled a quarter of the pack. The salt is advertised a course powder but its the same consistency as icing sugar. There is little flavour in it and i find that i have to use twice as much salt in dishes than i used to, I usually use one or two grinds of course salt to obtain a good seasoning but this i have to use a good teaspoon full or even two to get the same results. The price is more than other similar products but I won't be buying it because i find it very disappointing.
