So far so good, it works. Installed reasonably easy although a small modification had to made to my Vanity Light Bar to mount it. I'm not sure I would consider it "Rapid Start" as there is some delay but as I said, it works.

PROS: This is an easy to install replacement ballast that is thin enough for under cabinet lights. It has no buzzing. Reasonable cost.CONS: much slower turning on in the morning than the other lights in my kitchen. Turning off and then immediately on has little delay.

I bought this to replace a similar ballast (different brand) in a 2 lamp F28T5 fixture. While the wire colors are the same, the wiring diagram on this unit is different compared to the original ballast. I followed the diagram on this unit and it worked perfectly. It is really easy to remove the old ballast and install this one. Same size. Also, you can remove the sockets on each end of the fixture and carefully open them up. You can then release the original wires and insert the new wires from this ballast, so you don't need to cut and splice any wires. The price for this ballast was about 1/2 of what I found at local hardware stores, although this one is rated only for 115 volts, not dual voltage (115/230) like the more expensive ballasts are. But since I live in the US, this is all I needed.

I ordered this to replace the failed magnetic ballasts (that also had starters) in a 48" wide under cabinet fluorescent lighting fixture (uses (2) 21 inch T5 tubes) in the kitchen. It was MUCH CHEAPER than replacing the fixture, which other than the old ballast, at just over 1" thick, was already pretty nice. After taking out the old bulbs and taking it down this thing wired in quick and easy. LOTS OF LEAD LENGTH, so no worries there. I only needed about half the length provided. I have had installed for over a week now. Zero issues. ZERO HUM. SILENT. Not instant on, but pretty close. Great product. Was happy to find this here on Amazon and hope my review will motivate others for this economical quick upgrade, rather than filling landfills with otherwise fine old fixtures. =)

Bought this as replacement for ballast that went out on a fixture bought from Lowe's. In stores, this ballast was only available in 10 packs, which is useless to a homeowner. This one worked perfect, has plenty of length on the leads. Make sure to check the mounting ends on this one - it has two slots for screws, which is to be expected. The one I was replacing had tabs that fit into a slot in the fixture.
