Echo Show 10 (Newest gen) | HD smart display with motion and Alexa | Charcoal Fabric

This is an upgrade for me from the Show 8 which I've had for some time and love.As we have existing products I had this one ready to join our existing group.It's really easy and straightforward to set up. One of the features I really like is that you can set it to move with you as you move in a room. For example in the kitchen it will move with me as I go about my cooking or cleaning so the screen is always visible. The large screen makes it easy to pop on the TV or read a recipe and the sound is clear and easily changed in volume. Definitely worth the money, especially when bought on an offer!

This is an amazing piece of kit! The 10.1 inch Screen is bright with very sharp images and I love the motion tracking feature. (This really impressed my wife- she now loves this and all my other Echo products around the house).Set-up is simple if you have an Amazon account and it has to be placed on a flat secure surface or it notifies you and goes idle, until it is secure. It has a very wide turning circle so give it a clear space either side.I haven't set up the Echo to Echo video feature with the Echo Show 8 in the Living Room room. (I want to surprise my wife with this feature) so we have that to look forward to very soon.It is very expensive though, but I feel a very worth while investment, especially if you don't want to pay for a high grade speaker system.It feels sturdy, but is not too heavy and looks fantastic with it's simple styling and set up giving it a futuristic look and feel.The sound quality is excellent too and being able to watch Netflix and Prime Video is just great.This is by far the best Echo Show model I have seen, to date and I love it!Update: I have now tried the video chat and it works a treat. My wife is very pleased she doesn't always have to msg me if I'm in my "study" and we can chat face-to-face. The screen image is excellent and the sound is really good too!!

It’s moderately big. An iPad of this size will set you back double this price and the fire HD 10 is only about £100 cheaper. The sound quality is significantly better than a normal echo, I can’t comment on whether it’s as good as the echo studio because I haven’t got one but it’s not as good as a home pod. The sound is good but not fantastic, it will pair with a echo sub but not a different echo show or echo.Picture quality is excellent. Following you around the room is disconcerting rather than useful and if you want it to rotate fully it needs most of a coffee table to be clear.It should be useful as a home security camera but I haven’t managed to get it to do this.Is it worth £240? Actually it probably is, but only if you value the sum of its parts ie a fire HD10 on a quality echo speaker. Like all echo devices it’s let down by its poor/intermittent voice obedience and inconsistent response to exactly the same voice command. Ie “Alexa play the video of Rick stein’s road to Mexico” will get you anything from the theme tune on Spotify, Indian sitar music what you actually want, ignoring you entirely or saying it can’t find what you want. Frustrating. Otherwise it’s an ideal echo for the kitchen

I bought echo show 10 from john lewis (same price) as Amazon had a month's wait on delivery.Straight out of the box it had a quality feel, heavy and well balanced (charcoal model).No problems linking it to my account and all my devices are working as before. Setup is easy whether pre setup by Amazon, or you need to do it yourself.Sound quality is excellent, lots of bass if you like the 'thud thud thud', but with the equaliser settings, you can have crisp clear notes.Screen resolution same as echo show 8, no loss of quality though, just a bigger picture, perfect.Screen motion sensor, very accurate and speedy with 'whisper quiet motor' ( I actually can't hear it). Works great in good lighting but struggles when lighting is low (It does tell you though).All in all, very responsive, very easy to use and is a great asset to have, one hang up, no headphone socket.... some might say this is because it has motion activation and is probably best suited to a kitchen where you won't need headphones. I use mine as a bedside kit, so would have been handy to have one (you could put it the same place as the power plug, like echo show 8) ... Maybe that's an upgrade one year.Well worth the money if you're into your tech and well worth it if you need it as an assistant (as I do). Amazon has brought out the best at last :)
