KitchenAid Asteroid Mini Oven Mitt, 5.5"x8", Pistachio 2 Count, Pistachio

Was hoping for something more flexible than the silicone-coated mitts, which are super-unwieldy and awkward for gripping cookie sheets and baking pans. Hoped these cotton ones would protect like the ones I grew up with. Unfortunately, the search will have to continue. These mitts are not sufficiently heat resistant. Heat from pans coming out of the oven permeates the mitts in just a couple of seconds. These would work for moving a stock pot with hot handles on the stove top or maybe with cooler temps, like under 325 degrees F, but pretty useless for dealing with roasters, cookie sheets, and the like. Very disappointed.

I seldom submit bad reviews because it's not really worth it, but I wish I had paid attention to some of the other very recent product reviews that talked about how these mitts do not protect your hands from much heat at all. I've been cooking for 20+ years, and these are the most useless set of mitts I have ever had. I took a sheet pan out of an oven that was at 340 degrees. I was holding the pan for less than five seconds when I could really start to feel the heat coming through and felt that I should put the pan down. Take the advice of recent reviewers and skip this product. I will have to return these.

Bought these to replace a pair of oven mitts I loved but my kids ruined and these are terrible!! I took my Dutch oven out of the oven and it burnt my fingers. I thought I’d try them again and took a cookie sheet out of the oven and could feel the heat coming through. It says they are heat resistant but most definitely NOT!!!

These mitts are not the quality I expected and at this price, I guess I paid for just the KitchenAid Tag. Supposedly heat resistant to 500, but you can feel significant heat at temps much below within seconds. I'm surprised other reviews said the same thing, but still gave the product four stars. If they are advertised as heat resistant to a certain temp and they are NOT, they don't deserve the star rating they are getting.

Heat resistant means does NOT work. My first use of these new mittens I quickly grabbed cookies from the oven and they slightly melted. These cookies were in for 9 minutes at 350, and I took them out and quickly placed on stove. My hand was hot! Normally something that could help move hot stovetop pans should be able to quickly move a cookie sheet, but not these. Do not recommended at all.

We got these for my parents house because they were still using the little woven pot holders that my sister and I made when we were kids... These are great. You put your whole hand inside and the thumb part and finger part provide very good grip for large pots or baking pans or cooking handles. Right out of the oven and your whole hand is protected. They aren't heavy duty so you can't carry around a boiling hot baking pan for ages but these do a great job going from the oven to the table to the counter etc... 99% of everything you need. They go up to your wrist and they have a grippy design on the surfaces that touch the pots and pans so you don't slip off. I looked at a lot of pot holders and oven mits before choosing there and I don't regret this choice! (Mom still uses the little square woven pot holders my sister and I made as children but everyone else in the house uses these!)

Love these mini mittens!! I first bought a pair for Christmas and when it was time to put them away I found myself needing a replacement quick! I prefer that I mittens to the regular sized ones because they tend to fall off my hand. Definitely a great purchase. Heat resistant and when they get dirty you just throw them in the wash with like colors

Need more padding in the mittens. You can feel the heat when taking a pan out of the oven. Does not burn you but is warm.

These look like knock offs. The kitchen aid tag on the mitt doesn't have the official logo.

Picked up a tray at 400 degree and within a few seconds I could feels the heat almost burning through the mitt. Not as heat resistance at 500 as stated.

Thought at first these might be too small but they're just fine. Nice economical size for using in the trailer. Well made and good thickness.

Bought these for the RV sprinter van which is tight on space. They are perfect and the same quality as larger oven mitts. Perfect love the great products that KitchenAid produce. Highly recommend.
