absolutely loved this kit. very easy to set up. i bought it for myself because i am an adult man-child. still fun!be careful not to get bubbles in the syringes or tubes. could be made in a short time and probably with a very small child. i dont have kids but my guess would be a very smart interested 5 year old with lots of help at earliest, or an 8-12 year old. has everything you need, glue and rubber bands and twist tie included. great value.

My son is 9-years-old and put this together by himself. It works well, and he loves it! My son loves assembling kits, such as this one, so he's had practice, so it's not likely for a beginner child.
