We had an unfortunate accident with our old/traditional all-electric cooktop where a stone mortar was dropped and smashed the glass. So... in the market for a new cooktop. We've had a plug-in induction cooktop for years and loved it and decided to make the change to upgrade to an all-electric induction cooktop. Lowes and other places had them for $2,200+ with delivery 2+ months out. We took a chance on this unit for about $460 and boy are we glad we did. The unit dropped into the hole we had in our granite cooktop, wired into the electric box we used for our old traditional cooktop, and was installed in under an hour.The product works absolutely great. We bought induction friendly pots and pans (that almost cost the same as the cooktop) and they do a perfect job. We also bought some induction-friendly cooking mats. Those keep the cooking surface from getting scratches. Together, we've found the whole cooking process is very easy and this product is a champ.With that said, warranty information on this product is hard to find. The company is small and support seems like it would be low (though we have not needed any support). We figure, for $480, if we get 2 years out of it and need to buy a new one then we will still come out ahead vs a "name brand". However, we doubt we will have any problems with it as it seems the product is well built.

UPDATEWell, I'm updating my review because fortunately this company has responded well to my situation. They sent me a completely new stove! Great! It has worked flawlessly the last 2 days, so I guess they and I got unlucky with the first one which was behaving strangely from the beginning. Nonetheless, they had supported me all the way, and that says a lot about at company and I hope it gives confidence to other costumers. I'm very happy. This stove is great and I like that it is compact having 5 burners and all touching sensors controls. It looks amazing at my kitchen.------------------------------UPDATECustomer service has contacted me and they are trying to solve the situation.------------------------------After around 15 minutes of use, the upper left burner sensor control gets stuck at level 2. The rest of the burners work while you won't turn them off, otherwise they won't turn back on.The behavior persists even if the stove is completely turn off and back on.To get the stove to work again, I have to disconnect it from the wall plug and connect it again, until a few minutes of cooking that the weird behavior arise again.After a week of trying to contact, one month ago Thermomate reply to me and sent me a new motherboard, which I did appreciate since I know that it's the main part of the whole stove basically.As an experience engineer it was not complicated to replaced it and apparently the stove started to work fine but, sadly, it didn't resolve the issue, the problem is not gone and it behaves exactly as before.Although I really like the stove and its format, unfortunately, a situation like this could be a really bad indication of quality and thus deserves a bad review.I'm not willing to keep this monthly trial and error to try to fix it and after replacing a motherboard it could be anything.Now it seems that it will be better to through this to the garbage and find another solution to my stove situation.So be aware that the odds could be against you and get an erratic dysfunctional product as it happened to me.

The home I moved into already had a thermomate stovetop. It worked great, no issues. One day a spice from the overhead spice rack fell and cracked a chip in it. Did not effect how it functioned but was just cosmetic and I knew the crack would get worse overtime. Patched it with electrical tape and ordered a replacement here on Amazon.Item arrived on time, brand new. Cut power to the breaker, Uninstalled my original, read the instructions that came with the item. And connected my new thermomate exactly as the old one was.Turned the power back on and the new stove had power. Placed a pan with water in it on one of the four burners. Selected the burner with the touch option, turned it on, it began. I immediately noticed mild smoke coming from under the glass. The heat coils faded and the heat ceased. The electrical functions continued to work but now all 4 burners would not produce any heat whatsoever.Assuming I somehow short circuited the device I uninstalled the product and returned it that same day. Got a refund to my Amazon account and ordered another item of the same thinking I somehow installed it incorrectly and regardless shorted the circuitry.While waiting for my 2nd replacement to arrive I reinstalled my original cracked thermomate (installed exactly the same way). It still had full function, all burners working ect just the cosmetic chip in it.Got my 2nd replacement today, uninstalled my original, installed my replacement carefully, same story, immediate short circuitry and the product ceases to produce any heat whatsoever.Furious, I’ve now returned the 2nd product of the exact same thing twice in the same week, both brand new products. I have since re installed my chipped original and what do you know? It works perfectly still, on the same circuit, installed exactly as the same way.I called the thermomate support center and emailed them. No response and the phone service told me there was no one there to take my call and to call back another day. Pathetic.I am now living with my chipped original product and looking into new brands altogether, this company manufactures some crap product to put it nicely, I will never buy from them again.
