I am not into snake oil remedies. This is definitely not snake oil. This is GOOD stuff. I bought this to use in my 73 mustang mainly because it had a lead substitute, but the power increase was one heck of a bonus. The car is like a whole different car using this. Power is up as is throttle response.

MMt works
Octane boosters are typically for high perf boosted engines. It prevents timing drops and increases hp. It is not for everybody nor will it increase power if engine is not needing higher octane. Have used NOS in the past, which i think is slightly more potent than this one. But RP is much easily avail online.Works well, based on my n54 335i logs. None to very litl timing drops. Its a tuned engine and a small amount of booster is used as insurance. I use 93 oct and mix 4oz, roughly making it 94 oct.

Hmmmm. Not as good as it used to be?
I've used this product several times because I have a gas guzzler car. (I know, I know.) Anyway, when on longer road trips I like to use this because it increases my gas mileage "normally" by a lot. In the past, my 400hp beast would take one can of this and a full tank of Premium Gas and turn it into 40 miles per gallon. It was amazing. Now my car isn't all that old, less than 3 years, and the last time I used this stuff was a year ago...40mpg....no issue. This time, same trip, I only got 25 or so. I thought it might be my car, but on the same trip last year I also used a different brand (once I had run out of Purple), much less expensive and my mileage while not 40mpg came in at a respectable 28.THIS year, same trip, same drive at the speed limit or a little more, used Purple and my mpg was 24. Might as well not have used it and saved the money. I can get 24 or better without Purple. Then I stopped at the same gas station on the way back where I used that other brand, and for $3.95, not Purple's 3-4x the price, my mpg came in again pretty much right at 28 again. Now I raved about this Purple last time I used it.....40mpg, you bet!! This time, too expensive, not the same product maybe, formula was changed.....who knows....but certainly a disappointment. I won't be buying again.Oh and this was all on empty tanks so not mixing at all. I know how to use additives. I just don't know what happened.

Helps ECU adapt to extra available octane, leading to higher performance.
With the small investment of a can of Royal Purple Max Boost in each tank full, my supercharged 426 cu-in HEMI is able to continually adjust the adaptive air/fuel ratio and spark to give me noticeably better performance. Using a DiabloSport Trinity real-time ECU monitor, I can see the fuel trim and spark advance become more and more aggressive as short-term and long-term knock detection, which leads to spark timing retard, is avoided.During the summer, Max Boost is part of my Challenger's steady diet of 96-equivalent octane "super premium" Tier One fuel.

Works as advertised
Does what it is supposed to do - Works better with regular gas - Royal Purple technician told me it only increases premium gas octane by 1.9 which is enough for me - My Subaru Forester XT seems to run well with it

Error in Advertising
The description it incorrect for this item. Look at the image - this is a case of 6 cans of Royal Purple Max Boost - NOT a gasket. This has been brought to Amazon's attention over a year ago more than once. No change. I asked Amazon about this and they referred me to the distributor. So, it would appear that Amazon takes no responsibility for this. The product as displayed in the image is a good product. It is NOT a gasket as advertised. I wonder what I would receive if I were fool enough to order it???Why not advertise it as a mystery item with no image. That, at least, would be correct.
