So happy I can see out the back of my Jeep
So now that I’ve been living with this thing for a few weeks I feel like I can write an informed review.First the general stuff: I installed it in my 2016 JKU Wrangler entirely because of the crap rear visibility. That this is also a dash cam and gps speedo is just icing on the cake. Seriously, if you’re considering it, just do it. You will not be disappointed. The cameras themselves are great. Daytime and nighttime visibility is far superior to my old mirror. When the display is turned off, it still works pretty well as a mirror, too. I find that most of the time I can even focus on the reflection and the display separately, even when it’s powered on. Kind of like looking at one of those magic painting things if that makes any sense. My only tiny complaint is that the USBC power cable angles to the left and I didn’t like the look of that so I bought a separate USBC cable that angles toward the windshield instead. But that’s not nearly enough to knock off a star on such a wonderful product. Now for the Jeep specific stuff.1. I watched some YouTube install videos that said the camera cable is slightly too short when installing this in a four door wrangler. This is true if you route the cable across the windshield, down the A pillar, and through the floor trim, as is the generally accepted way to go about it. I went across the windshield and followed the roll bar back instead. It’s a bit of work to run all that cable under the roll bar padding, but it’s totally worth it. No issues with cable length. Actually had about 3’ left over.2. The GPS antenna cable is exactly (and I mean EXACTLY) long enough to go across the windshield, down the A pillar, and back to the center of the dash, where there is a perfectly sized flat bit (if yours doesn’t have the light sensor like mine doesn’t) right behind the dash tray to stick said antenna to.3. Take the time to remove the top windshield trim and A pillar trim completely. This requires removing the sun visors, but it makes running the three cables much easier. Also consider putting a small notch in the windshield trim. Looks much nicer than having it bent out a bit.4. I also recommend the windshield mount instead of strapping it to the existing mirror. Much better looking and it’s only another $20, so why not? It’s quite sturdy, too.5. The backup camera mount didn’t look like it would reach high enough for where I wanted to put it, so I also grabbed an AMPS mount here on Amazon for that. With the extras I think I’m in for a total of $150ish and I think it’s probably the best upgrade I’ve done to this wrangler. Kinda wish I’d done this to my previous wranglers as well.

Worth the higher cost
I usually don't write these things but there are first for everything. First and foremost.. I drive a 2022 Kia Rio.. but that mirror is kind of fat. It's good they gave the extra long wraps for wider displays. Installation was a breeze. I over thought it but really all it does is strap around your current mirror.I love the camera.. super easy to route the cables out of view if you know what you're doing. I have my rear camera routed to the left of my car and the power to the right. The gps plug in faces the windshield and also easily routed to the right. The touch screen really works well.. I can quick switch camera's view swiping left or right on the display.. further.. they're is also a button up can push. It also displays both views of your camera on a split screen if chosen to view both. It's either you connect to the car or to the camera which kind of sucks but I don't need to be on my camera app while driving so it's a very small downside. In collision or potential collision it auto locks the recording for you and you can set it to record every 1 to 3 minutes at a time. Was a little skeptical because of where it goes but.. really it isn't as bad as you might think. Even though my rear view is inside the car instead of replacing my rear camera stock on my car.. I get great view range and clear visuals of what is coming up from behind whether that be storm or car. I would give it a 7star but they don't allow that. 😒

Everything you want in a dashcam to save windshield space, but it's not perfect.
EDIT: 4/24/2025 After a few emails to Wolfbox's customer service, I learned that the rear camera letters are always backwards and are readable when viewing the playback. I confirmed that this is NORMAL. I thought my unit was not working properly. 4 Stars is where it remains. The model I have is the G840S. I have a 2014 Ford Focus ST and space is limited. Adding a radar detector takes up a lot of viewable area. So when looking for dashcams I came across the mirror dashcams that were offered. There's a lot of cheaper options out there but I am glad I opted for the 12 inch model. The mirror went over the stock one with no issues and the camera had perfect placement. The unboxing is well done. You get a trim tool to assist in tucking in your wires. This version was a little expensive but I think quality wise it looks better than the others I've seen so far. The instructions are not that great but if you look on YouTube, there's a lot of videos that help in the installation. Overall the installation was a breeze and the most challenging part of the install is finding the reverse light positive wire to tap into. In this instance I highly suggest wire taps and a wire stripper to properly connect the camera. I was back and forth regarding the GPS module. I mean I already have GPS on the car but I don't really need another module. I installed it for now. The resolution is really good and so far loving the convenience of a backup camera.EDIT: One day of usage. The rear camera is decent however, I see the license plates reading backwards in the screen. Not a dealbreaker, but no where to fix it. Also the reversing lines have to be adjusted to your car. I have a small car and I needed to really adjust it, also depending on where you mount your rear camera. I mounted mine right below the rear wing inside of the car's hatchback. I could have placed it and installed on the glass, but I didn't think of it until after I drilled holes lol.
