At the Colorado ren fest, there's a lot of rough terrain. They got the job done, and I threw in a pair of insoles. As for camping they really do not offer ankle support. In fact, be careful tightening down too much around the buttons, because they are loosely sowed on. The loopholes that hold the laces are not that much durable either. For show they're great, but they just won't last long if you use them heavily

My Hubby is size 11 - 11 1/2, I got him size 12/13 and it fits him perfectly. I'm sure they will fit you, if not some thick socks could help. They are nice boots, great material!
