I am a New Englander and a HUGE GROUCH in the winter at 6:00 AM when I have to let the beagle out to go to the bathroom at any temperature below 40 degrees. I have been searching for the ultimate winter gear that is easy to throw on and will keep me optimally warm while I am standing around waiting for a certain 30 lb someone to do their business. I had a sense that hunters / trappers probably had the best handle on keeping warm in the cold, and so I turned to this hat style to keep warm.This hat is fantastic. I love that there is a strap to hold it on and that there is the face covering that keeps pretty much my entire head warm and comfortable. The face strap is removable and the hat looks fashionable with or without the face covering. The faux fur lining is soft and cute.Ever since we had snowpocalypse in Boston in 2015, I am constantly looking over my shoulder for crippling blizzards and hoarding winter gear; our stores literally ran out of gloves that year. This is a must-have item for any Bostonian with PTSD (Post Traumatic Snowstorm Disorder). Thanks for the great product!

This quickly became my favorite hat, but it does have some flaws worth noting.First, the good. It’s very comfy. Fits my 23 inch head really well.It’s very warm. Warmer than any other hat I have.It’s nice and soft.It looks nice.The face mask really turns up the heat.And the flaws.There are no ear holes, makes hearing harderThe clip under the chin slides easily. I worry about losing part of it.It doesn’t breath, so if doing something strenuous, expect to sweat and the moisture to stay.The face mask vents up towards my eyes, which isn’t a problem most of the time, except when I’m taking photos with my DSLR. It fogs up the eye piece constantly.There is no place to store the face mask. It looks dumb hanging from one side, so I end up storing it in a coat pocket. I’m sure I will forget it when switching coats. A little pocket somewhere on the hat would be great.But the price makes up for the flaws, so I’m happy.

I bought this hat for going to the Arctic Circle , I just returned and now I can't return it because it's been too long . This is a cheap piece of junk. First of all it's not a real hat, it is just decorative. The forehead flap does not fold down, it is sewn so you cannot cover your eyes when sleeping in the freezing cold, or in strong cold winds. It is also poorly made. You should be able to secure the ear flaps under your chin with the strap and the clip; the first time I tried to secure that clip and adjust the strap, the strap popped off because it was so poorly sewn. Keeping warm in Sub-Zero temperatures is a life-and-death situation, and I almost got frostbite from this crappy hat.

Amazing! However, there is one tidbit the buyer should be aware of when buying.There is a small gap in the nape of the neck (It seemed like it would cover down the back of the neck as well). However, with a nice jacket or coat, you can simply pop the collar and cover that gap.Additionally, the chin strap has a small clip that is inserted into the opposite side. In some products, there is usually a catch point to keep a small item like this latch from falling off -- not so in this product. As a matter of fact, within 3 days, I had already lost it. As a result, I can't cinch the bottom down. It's not the end of the world, but it's something useful to know.This thing is amazingly warm and I used it for perhaps one of the worst snow days in Canada. I love the optional mouth and chin warmer/guard. Personally, I have used it several times and I can't imagine a snowy day without it again -- saves me having to wrap a scarf around my face.It also has two double clips on either side of the upper jaw to affix the strap to. It's so easy to do it, that I've done it with thick gloves!Fantastic product and if you're on the fence about it -- get off and buy it!

This does what it's supposed to do which is to keep your head and face warm. I live in Michigan and the weather gets below freezing. I tried it today and I was very impressed. Once I closed the flap over my face I could stand outside as long as I like. This is the real deal and answer to the fridge weather used to. Best part is it's comfortable and soft. I highly recommend it.

Got this item and my friend loved it so much that he actually told me to buy one on the spot. This is really furry on the outside and outer part of the hat. We went night hiking and it is really amazing. From feeling like I was dying in the 50 F (Leave me alone I'm from California, thank you very much ) weather to feeling super warm was the best feeling ever. The face mask is easily removable via snap off button. You can also tie the bottom to make it super comfortable! It was really well worth the money and I'm glad I was bored and just decided to go with it!I'm taking off one star because the fact that the bottom clip for the hat falls off even if you haven't touched it or made it really loose, so be careful because once you lose that, there really isn't anyway to replace it unless you horde that exact size in your closet in the millions

Feels like it will be very warm, but I have a short,fine hairdo and this thing just slips and slides on my head. I'll have to wear something thin under it so it doesn't come down and cover my eyes. I can pinch like 2 inches behind my head; it's too big! Maybe I'll just sew it in the back somehow.UPDATE: 1/6/18- It's certainly still way too big for me; I wear a smaller hat under it, or it would come down too far and cover my eyes. It is definitely warm, but sadly, I don't think it's for me. I look like a child wearing an adult hat; would be great for emergency clothing in car.
