Helps me sleep, good product, could be a bit softer
I used this product for sleep, but do sometimes wear it in the day for activity or just to enjoy breathing. I have some unfortunately-shaped nostrils that contribute to snoring and sleep apnea. This product has helped with that in a valuable way.Breathing - It opens up your nose by basically creating a firm "ring" of plastic that supports your nostril from the inside. It opens your airways and makes it easier to breathe through your nose. I've been able to stop breathing through my mouth as much because of these, and my sleep is improved when I use them.Sizing - I used the medium size. There is an adjustment on the "arms," but I found that these just collapsed or clicked shut in the process of putting them in my nose, so I eventually just got used to using them fully "collapsed." I would recommend the company just try to make more options for firm sizes instead of using this adjustment system.Comfort - The top of the hoop inside the nostril has a softer material (silicone/rubber of some kind) on the "wings" that stick up against the top of your nose. I feel like these (and the whole unit) could maybe be a little softer. After an adjustment period, I tolerate the device pretty well. But after a full night of use, your nose can feel a little "raw" - especially if you move it around or adjust it much.Grossness - Sorry to be gross, but basically an FYI - if you're exerting yourself and have allergies like I do, you may find some snot collecting at the area at the base of the nose where the connecting arm sits. Having the item in can make it hard to wipe that away without also irritating your nose. This isn't a huge downside, but it can bug you if you're spending a lot of time with these in and have that issue. Just keep an eye out for it, and be prepared to remove it once in awhile to clean things up.Suggestion - I wouldn't mind some of these in skin tone colors. I'm not really going for that punk rock look, so having a more "discreet" color option than bright yellow would be nice.Overall, the issues I've mentioned are minor in comparison to how much these have helped me with my breathing. I'm grateful for them, and I hope the company will continue to iterate on their design.

Worked with my deviated septum and running! Noticeable difference
First of all, anyone interested in trying this product out, purchase the assorted size to determine which dilator is the correct size for you. I knew my septum in my nose was deviated, but never thought that it had a major effect on my cardio. That was, until I decided to use the Breathe Right Nasal Strips casually at home. I realized how deep of breathes I could take nasally with only the external strips, but the adhesive kept coming off. I needed a more solid solution, that was not surgery. In my preparation for my first half-marathon about 1 month out, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try as my distances seemed to plateau. Every time I used the dilators, I really felt the difference. I was able to run the distances expected. I'm a bigger guy with a narrow nose bridge, and a noticeable deviated septum when observed up close. I especially noticed when I forgot the dilators on a 5K shortly after the half marathon. It was tough for a relatively flat 5K course.PROS:+ I do reuse them. I wash them off after each use. I've been using the same Large pair for over a year now, but ordering an additional 3 pack after losing my Large dialator.+ 100% worked for me, where nasal strips would slip off mid-jogs+ Assorted size allowed me to learn that I should be using a Medium to Large. Testing out each in a run+ A must have when performing any cardio. Although, I haven't needed while hiking yet.+ They stay in place about almost 95% of the time. The other 5% of the time, is usually when i'm furrowing my nose. All I'd need to do to correct this, is to push the dilator back into place. It takes about 5 seconds max.+ Cheaper alternative to surgery. As an active person, who only feels the effects of a deviated septum while doing cardio... this is great!CONS- Somewhat uncomfortable the first few times you use them. I've learned that I need to have them in my nose a few minutes before my cardio action to allow my nose to adjust to them. Usually my nose will become slightly congested because of me shoving it up my nose. After a while it clears up and I can take in full breathes completely through my nose. This doesn't lower my rating, because I would expect my nose to react like this with anything in my nose for a long period of time.Overall I would recommend these dilators to anyone that is looking at an inexpensive solution to improve cardio performance with a deviated septum.
