Purple Reign 115 Volt 15 Amp Digital 7 Day Dual Outlet Grow Light Timer

I have only tested this timer, not used for very long, so I can't report on its durability. It came with instructions printed in microscopic size. I had to magnify the instruction card on my office copier to be able to read it. Once I did that, I found the instructions pretty clear, and it was easy enough to program the timer (except that some of the indicators on the LCD screen are also very small and hard to read, if you don't have great close-up vision). It has two grounded outlets, but both operate at the same time. They can't be programmed differently. This timer seems very versatile, in that you can program a whole series of on-off intervals for different times and different days (e.g., on 9-10 am Mondays, on 2-4 pm Tues. and Thurs., on 5-7 pm Mon., Wed., and Fri., on 8 am-2 pm Wed. and Fri., etc.) The timing mechanism is powered by an internal battery, so it keeps its settings even when not plugged in. I looked at three weekly timers on the internet that looked exactly like this one but were sold under different brand names. I assume they are all made by the same manufacturer. I bought this one because it was the cheapest.

I have seen this exact timer at the local Harbor Freight, under the brand named Chicago, for roughly the same price. Regardless, it is an excellent timer for an unbeatable price.The features are easy to understand if you've used these digital types before. If not, a quick glance at the instructions will prepare you in no time.One thing I did not like about this particular timer is that it comes with a battery backup activated (no plastic sleeve over a battery). I did not search for a battery immediately and the backup still ran for days with no problems. I cannot speak for Its long term use, but with 8 optional settings for daily on/off switch and two grounded sockets, it's worth the chance.I simply prefer a cheap digital timer to run a surge protectors to limit daily power use. This toner seems like it'd do well in a variety of applications though. Definitely worth the money.

Timer works perfectly as required. Only using it for 3 settings a day. Easy to set up. Bigger than expected to and it hangs "upside down" because of the way our electric outlets are wired. Company was very responsive to my comments and would buy again from them..UPDATE- Timer has stopped working after about 6 months (Warranty is 3 months). I expected it to last more than that. No power to either outlet. Keeps the time but won't turn on/off lights. Followed directions for reset- no change. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. This unit was not abused. Inside house 70 degrees. No excessive heat or humidity. Connected to surge suppressor. Think twice before purchase

Received and set up timer on Dec 3, cycling on at 6:00am and off at 10:00pm. Feb 21 it didn't come on. Although the buttons and display work fine, an internal electrical connection seems to have failed as nothing plugged into the timer outlets receives power under any setting.It lasted 21 days past the warranty/return date. 87 days of use at $.16 per day? Not a good deal.

Works as it should... I've had it for a week now and it works perfect. This is a great timer for a chicken coop automatic door. Yes it will power a automatic radio antenna to open and close a chicken door but you will need 2 power converters up and down 12v 5 amp to convert the power. Easy! So easy you don't need instructions .

I purchased this timer to use with my grow light. It has worked perfect since I started using it. Very easy to set up and program. Been flawless for the past couple months. no issues. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a timer.

The only reason why I'm giving you a four star rating is that the timers lose 3 seconds a day in today's technical age a digital device that loess that much time is unacceptable . Although it's a nice product at a good price and does everything as decided and is easy to program but needs alittle more tweeting ? I'm using it to start my garden indoors and don't want my plants to go from the vegetating stage to bloom before I put the outside this could cost me two weeks of growth when plant have to go back to there veggie state before continues growth

Works perfectly. No guessing if you have pushed in the right button! I am using these on my grow lights for my vegetable seed starting. I used a power strip, plugged it into the timer, plugged the timer into a short 2 ft extension chord and that into the wall. Keeps the timer and power strip up where I can easily get to it. This is running 8 grow lights in this configuration.
