Comfortable and provides lots of shade.

The harness is the downfall of an otherwise well made product. It doesn't fit well and the slightest nudge or winds dislodged it.

It works. The inside head strap doesn't really fit around a normal sized head, it would only fit a very tiny head. The umbrella locks into place and sits on your head with the chin strap being the only thing holding it together. A gusty wind would knock it down.

The best way to beat the heat is shade, so bring it with you. I do carnival setups and this hat has been a game changer for me. still allows airflow but keeps the sun off your neck head and shoulders. Make sure to use the chin strap in moderate wind, not suitable for high wind.Only suggestion I have: use a bandana or sweatband under the elastic strap for padding. I have a big head and the vertical supports kinda dig in.

My wife and her sister bought this item to protect them from the sun....both women are very petite and have small head size. They had much difficulty placing on their head and when they finally squeezed their head inside the non elastic band....they felt extreme pressure and discomfort. Also if you have a bun or ponytail it is virtually useless. Additionally, the construction is vey flimsy made. One of the adjustment clips on the chin strap was off. Unfortunately we had to return both items.

So, I gotta tell ya, I didn't get this umbrella hat as a gag gift or anything. I have this porch where I like to smoke, but it doesn't have any cover. So, when it rains or snows, I'm out of luck. But let me tell you, this hat is a game-changer! It's like having my own personal little shelter right on my head. It might look a bit goofy, but hey, it gets the job done. Definitely worth it!
