If you are working with an Arduino, you need one of these!
These are fabulous for Arduino! The pins line up perfectly with the microcontroller, and the through hole plating makes it easy to create standard headers as well as stackable headers. Unlike most perf board, you can build and route wiring on both sides of the board. Very handy and worth every penny!

Great prototype boards
Used them for a project that had 10 Arduinos in use. Great way to add passive components and connectors to the Arduino. Would probably work well with active components such as transistors and ICs.

Header pins shorted
Built a capacitance checker with one. Wondered why I had trouble uploading a sketch. Noticed the built-in led going out when I plugged in the board so I measured the digital header pins. They were shorted to each other by about 1k to 4k ohms. I installed a header to the digital pins aref to 8 on a new board. Noticed the same thing. They short out when you solder them.
