A classic to add to your collection
Having been to Delmonico in Vegas too many times to count. I grabbed this cookbook to see some of the history of the NY Delmonico’s that opened in 1820 and the original NOLA versions. Emeril and his team have done a lot with the original menu and added Cajun/Creole options. This cookbook links the history through various phases by including popular recipes like the original house salad, steak Diane, of gumbo, and bananas foster bread pudding. The history of the restaurant is included in the beginning, and each recipe has a description discussing its place on the menu, creation, or other interesting information. The Bloody Mary is great. There are a lot of great sauces like the spicy cream sauce with the crawfish. It is a worthy addition to any collection.

I bought this after eating there. I was interested in the historical information the book included in the beginning. Nice to read how the building survived the different owners and establishments. After eating there though, I expected more recipes that we ate to duplicate at home. I was disappointed to find none of the recipes we ate in the book. It is filled with lots of New Orleans type food that look very good though.

Family & friends have been to EMERIL s Delmonico restaurant several times. Impeccable service top quality food in both food and selections. Outstanding desserts especially Banana cream pie. And looking forward to returning.

Nice to read, high quality paper and and cover.
I used several recipes wlth great results. Clear details and protocoles for enjoying very good food.Reading it is good for the brain and using for cooking is good for the palate. Emeril at its Best!!
