My wife is in the beginning stages of starting her own business and I would like to contribute to sales in my own way. I do glass etching as a hobby, but her buissness is in wood working and design. Although similar to etching I took up wood carving. My first purchase of wood carving tools was at a well known discount tool supply store, and not only were they hard to grip and handle, they didn't stay sharp. So I purchased this set from Amazon and they are wonderful! They carve beautifully and are easy on my hands. Best of all it was easy on our pockets! Definitely a good buy for new and seasoned Carver's!

I have been using these for some wax carving. They definitely are not high quality woodworking tools BUT for the price they are incredible. If you are doing any carving on softer materials these are a great option that work wonderfully and have a value that exceed their cost

Good tools for when you want to do some detail work however they do need a special coating on them because I’m starting to see a little rust and if you’re doing clay work you don’t want rust in your product

These are great my dad start trying to Carve things with his pocket knife all the time so I got him this kit to help him out he loves it can’t get him to stop carving things it’s bin a few mouths and none have broke

Really nice beginner set. Quality seems on par with what you might find in a hobby store. Handles are slim with a concave portion near the blade. IMHO These will also work well with smaller hands. The included 800 grit stone is thin and long. I found a cigar box that fits the set great! Other sets I looked at had 8 knives. This set has 12.

I guess you really get what you pay for in some cases. These are inexpensive carving tools and I was hoping to use them with linoleum blocks. I made a sample of each tool and learned they are not that sharp. I am new to the technique, so I am not the best judge, but I would have expected these to be smooth to work with. I also bought a different set and they moved like cutting through butter...I was expecting the same with these. Nope! There are a few that I did like, so its not a total flop! They are a little bit of a challenge to use though. I could only cut so far and the handle got in the way. The blades are not long, so when you cut at a low angle to get the right amount of gouging out, it hangs up on the lip of the handle..and you cant complete the cut. I hope that makes sense. Again, I am not a professional at this technique, so I could be doing this all wrong.I do like the caps though...nice and tight, so they wont come off very easy and risk cutting yourself. Also, I do wish they had some type of number or code engraved on them, there are no logos, or any kind of writing on them.

I bought these for an upcoming project and I have to say they are so so much better than I expected and very sharp as well and they also come with the honing stone which is a plus for me! I have to say for the money that I paid I think that these are well well above what I was expecting and I would recommend these to anybody who is looking to purchase some inexpensive carving tools and I give them a five star!

I love these. Unfortunately, two corners snapped off BUT it really doesn't effect my carving as long as I keep the tools sharp!
