Next generation should embody improvements
I bought this product because my costly new iPad felt insecure in my hands, even causing cramps from gripping it during long periods of use. Carrying it by gripping the glass constantly caused screen smudges from oily fingers. The Padlette promised to lessen, if not eliminate the problem. It's attractive and easy to install. Made of a formulation of versatile silicone, it simply stretches diagonally corner to corner across the back of the iPad, allowing the user to suspend the iPad from a thumb in the portrait orientation, slide a few fingers under it, or use the cross-straps as a handle. Carrying the iPad one-handed without touching the screen is now a snap, as is holding the iPad securely in any orientationSince I started using it, strangers have approached me to ask about it. I've recommended it unequivocally. Why, then, only four stars? Simply put, it's not as good as it could be. It could better accommodate the position of the iPad's volume and slide switches in the upper-right corner. Some additional thought might allow for a few additional hand positions, including hanging the iPad off one's thumb in the landscape orientation. And it might better accommodate the left-handed user, which I am. These might be minor gripes, but if the inventor reads this, he or she might put some additional development effort into suggestions like mine. And then send me a freebie prototype, of course, for the effort!

I can't wait until they make one that truly fits the iPad Pro.
Too small for the iPad Pro. It barely fits. My last one fell apart after a few months use. But it appears to be the only game in town, so reluctantly I bought another one. I am mystified as to why, two years after the iPad Pro was released, they still don't make an appropriately sized version of this. To scale up the design should take all of 5 minutes. Although I could get it on, it's painfully tight to use, regularly cutting off my circulation. The old X-band was a better unit in general, but that was a one man shop that ceased operation some years ago. If these guys are unwilling to upscale this, I hope someone steps in to fill the void.

My favorite iPad accessory
When I started looking for something to help me hold on to my iPad for public speaking, I wasn't finding what I wanted: a cheap solution to keep my hands from wearing out. My first reaction to this Padlette was that it was overpriced. I still think it's a little pricy for what it is, but at the same time, it works well despite its simplicity and I don't regret spending the money at all.I use this Padlette with and without a leather case on my iPad and it works well with both. It actually works better with the leather case on because the part of the silicon that wraps on the front side doesn't come as far down from the corner. When I started using the Padlette I experimented with running it from the top left to the bottom right and vice versa. For me, being a right-handed gesturer, I run it from the top left to the bottom right (when looking at the front of the iPad). Without the leather cover on, this can sometimes cause trouble depending on the app if there is a control button in the top left corner of the app. With the leather on, it doesn't cover as much of the screen on the corner and it is less of an issue. This straps on quickly and holds tightly. I can put it over my hand and it stays in place very well. I use it at least once a week and I've never had it come off, nor have I ever dropped it. It's nice to slip it back off and carry it around without taking up a lot of space. It took some getting used to, but after I got used to the feel and learned to trust that it will stay in place I don't even think about it anymore. I am very glad that I found the Padlette and if it ever breaks I will certainly replace it. Fortunately, after a year, there is absolutely no wear showing on it at all.

Padlette in Black
This is such a great product!I currently have a Zagg Folio case/keyboard combo with my Ipad 3. I like to take the Ipad out and physically like to hold the tablet independently from the case and keyboard, but at times holding the tablet alone makes me worried and I start to think I'm going to drop it. Not anymore!I'd rather pay a total of $40.00 to have two of these versus paying a higher price for a different tablet holder. Simply, I looks like a giant silicone rubber band. But this rubber band makes holding the tablet that much easier and safer verusus "just holding it" with your hands. This simple design of the Padlette has two ends hook around the edges of the tablet with the middle area accesible for your hand and fingers to manually adjust to either a landscape or portrait holding position of your Ipad. This just depends on how you position your fingers and hands. I've been able to basically "palm" the back of my Ipad with my fingers and hand with the assistance of the Padlette and without worrying that my Ipad is going to fall on the floor. Similarly, while you find the right position with your hands and fingers, the tablet also can rest securely against the inside of your forearm and wrist area is you're standing/sitting while your other hand is using a stylus. Bottom line... feels secure and safe.Another thing I'm noticing also is when I'm putting my tablet down either glass face down or on its back, the silicone is acting as a buffer so that it won't scratch against a hard surface.Oh, cool thing about this also is that having this doesn't take too much room as an added piece of equipment per se. I just fold this silicone band up and put it in my back pocket.

Very useful for my Pixel-C
Very useful for my Pixel-C. I have a screen protector, but this does not affect use. Mostly Pixel-C is used with keyboard, but when I need to be in 'tablet-mode' the Padlette is excellent. Also slim enough to carry in the Pixel-C case, so always available when I need it.

Expensive but effective holds pad tight. I just hope ...
Expensive but effective holds pad tight .I just hope the expense ensures the quality of the grip---an expensive item to drop.

Simple but effective
Very simple idea and works well. Holds well to the iPad and hasn't slipped off. I use the iPad smart cover as a handle. I put the palette on first then fold the smart cover twice so that it is at its narrowest. Then I just tuck it flat between the palette and the back of the iPad air in landscape mode. Great for watching a film in bed
