Final season of the Emmy® Award-winning hit HBO drama series Game of Thrones – an epic story of duplicity and treachery, nobility and honor, conquest and triumph. This product will feature all new bonus content exclusive to the DVD/BD release. With the Army of the Dead—led by the Night King, his White Walkers and an undead dragon—bearing down on Jon and Dany and their combined forces, a denouement eight seasons in the making will be reached, answering a myriad of questions surrounding the fate of the series' protagonists. Meanwhile, Jon’s true identity promises to undermine Dany’s claim to the Iron Throne…and, of course, Cersei has a devious strategy of her own.

After a very long wait the final season was there. Given the time in between we had to go through a previous season recap on YouTube, too bad this is not included in the standard set, premium HD season we bought on Prime. I would highly recommend a recap to those who haven’t seen Season 7 recently.Though this season contains less episodes you can still be assured of excellent entertainment, lots of dilated black pupils, witty dialogues, movie-style cinematics and effects. And dwarf jokes. Also several of the episodes are pretty lengthy.Of course the characters will die off in a gradual but accelerating manner - somewhat predictably, the minor ones go first. Over the past few months I had to try really hard to avoid all spoilers or commentary from excited colleagues. Though I had some GOT-esque scenario in mind on how it would end and speculated on the main character ending up as the king/queen of the Seven Realms. Somewhat to my disappointment this proved more of less right, except that it wasn't on the Iron Throne.. so despite all the usually spectacularly surprising GoT story lines and twists here are predictable elements to the whole thing.I don’t understand all the hard core fans' complaints on the ending and the demand for a remake – this is GoT!; don’t expect a rosy fairy-tale ending where your favoured heroine or hero ends on the throne. We bought the HD version that is mostly very sharp and brisk. The cinematography is strong and the series is beautiful to watch. Although I must say that the drawn-out Winterfell battle in the middle of the series takes place in an ice storm and a dark castle, which is fine it itself but we found ourselves often wondering what exactly was going on with what character. In this season there is less nudity of the lead characters, though some from characters or actors that you would not expect or want to see in that situation. All in all, I think it is a worthy conclusion to the many hours we invested in watching this brilliant series. It remains one of my top 3 series that is available these days. But it is crucial ranked series. I can’t praise series, like GoT, enough that have a pre-determined plot line and conclusion - which to my surprise remains rare among the flood of for the quality of the series and it prevents from major plot holes. More of this please.

Loved it so much I bought it twice!
Great series, superb acting, fabulous action scenes and state of the art special effects made this a final series to remember. I thought the end was well written and it worked for me.Buying it twice? I bought it in a sale after I lent my copy to a friend having forgotten I already had it! When he returned it some time later I did feel silly!

In the end they all just wimp out
This drama is based on an existing series of books and covers events in a pseudo medieval world that is basically in ruin. The Usurper King had been on the throne for 17 years and now others seek the Iron Throne. The ’season’ is the last of the series and takes it to the conclusion. Generally people say that books are much better than the DVD/movie version. In this case it’s impossible to say as the 7 books (currently published) effectively end at the conclusions of seasons 4 or 5 so this is simply a TV continuations on where the next set of books are thought to be headed. The roll fold box set has 4 DVDs with a total of 6 episodes, all tend to feature some extras which give a good insight on how the entire series (1-8) were made. Also remember this is the last season set, you’ll still need to purchase the others. There is no denying the entertainment value in this collection but there is swearing, and a host of controversial subjects from incest to religion and with graphic scenes of violence its definitely adult viewing. Excellent effects, brilliant and convincing acting, what’s not to like? I’ll tell you.Why ****, because the last episode(#6) is a disappointment. Without divulging the plot, the survivors all come across as nasty self seeking specimens of what can only be loosely termed humanity. I didn’t like or sympathise with any of them in the end. Just watch the first 30 minutes if your strong willed enough (wish I had), 45 if you want more, but the rest will probably anger most as its gooey sentiment and not what a hard hitting series needed.

Must watch
Wasn't sure at first but then totally binge watched the whole thing 😂. Couldn't watch just one. I agree the ending is a little disappointing but I think they left it where they did so they could add more latter. You can bet, if there's more, I'll watch them. Great set design. Great writing. Great actors.

Wonderful series
If you have not watched the last series yet, DO NOT READ the reviews, as many of them include spoilers. I am glad I did not read them before I watched this. Many reviews are very critical of the last series, mainly because the reviewers imagined a different ending. I would say, watch and judge yourselves; everyone has their own opinion. I loved the series and could not have imagined a better ending. Some things could be presented in a more elaborate manner, such as the relation between the Night King and Bran, but one can only include so much in a series, otherwise it would never end.Wonderful settings, amazing work from all the cast and supporting crew. I also loved the extra two documentaries in the last DVD, which made me appreciate the series even more. I have only one complaint regarding the documentaries; there is (rightly) a lot of information on many of the supporting groups - costumes, visual effects, extras etc - but not a word about anything to do with sound design and music! There was, surely, amazingly elaborate work done by the sound and music team, and it would have been greatly appreciated if the documentaries included at least 5 minutes on that. But not a word! Which continues the myth and contributes to the fact that most people believe that sound design and music tailored to scenes are easily done these days.Get the DVD or Blu-ray and watch it. Just watch with open mind without expecting anything, and I doubt you will be disappointed.
