Pour a small amount of alcohol into the fuel reservoir. Do not fill up. To boil 16-ounces of water you'll need only about 1/2-ounce of fuel. Light the stove with match or lighter and in 20-40 seconds the flames will come out of the jet holes around the stove creating a real burner. Place pot on top and the center flame is extinguished thereby saving fuel. The jets will continue to burn and heat your pot.
