Pretty but superficial. No Seiko?
I browsed this in a local bookshop and formed a strong enough impression to post my opinion here.It is a very typical coffeetable book, with many nice pictures of models throughout the history of the featured brands; and like most coffeetable books it is light on details. Some high level info is all.I was surprised that Seiko was not in the book, while the brand was truly innovative (first quartz watch, etc), and beat the Swiss at the accuracy game with ther Grand Seiko models. This is in my opinion a true oversight, and rather typical of a coffeetable volume that mainly focuses on perceived luxury (though Swatch is also present). Of course they cannot include chapters on all brands, but skipping Seiko? The book might be an okay gift for a watch collector, to browse and enjoy the pictures.
