Service Dog Ask To Pet Medical Alert Symbol 2.5 Inch Black Rim Sew-on Patch

This sturdy and durable patch has black edging made of dyed nylon thread. The evenly spaced stitches are strongly anchored. No loose spaces between threads, no strings hanging down. Unless you look very hard, you cannot determine where the sewing started or stopped.The patch edge is initially sewn with all-transparent nylon thread, then dyed black. The black dye has a consistent width all around the patch.You can see the nylon fabric's weave, yet it is strong, made stronger with a lightweight yet "tough" plastic backing. The words and red symbol are imprinted ink on the smooth-feeling fabric.It's rained, snowed, and my beagle and his vest have gotten rather wet, even muddy at times, but the dyed edging and front imprint have shown no color loss, smudging, smears, or other disfigurement.I bought this patch thinking that it was cheap enough to replace if my hearing dog's wear and tear was a bit more than most service dogs put their patches and vests through. (I have a slightly tubby half beagle who has his rambuncious moments at times, and he rolls and rubs on the floor to let me know when he wants his vest off.) To my delight, it is an excellent quality patch for my rolly polly.When hand-sewing it, the patch was "tough" to get the needle through. Just push that needle a little harder, because this patch can take it. (Perhaps a thicker needle might work, too.)

I purchased this for my partner's DAD service dog. So, it was sewn onto a vest that is worn daily. The patch is very sturdy and has not shown wear, even after a few years. It was rather thick, so it was kind of difficult to sew onto the vest, especially since both the vest and patch are thick materials. However, it was worth it because it's very well-made. It's also the perfect size to be noticed on the vest. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend.

This is a nice badge, I bought 2, one for each side of the vest. It was a little difficult to adhere to the vest. I bought epoxy and did it that way. Superglue would not work and the material was too strong to sew it on.

This is a sturdy patch with the words easily visible -- Service Dog; Ask to Pet. I sewed it onto a harness and it works very well. People notice it and some of them do ask to pet my service dog. Others don't seem to notice and/or care that there is protocol with approaching a service dog.

Very well made

I have ordered from this company before. Their patches are well made, the colours do not bleed and are easy to stitch. My service dog vests are washed frequently since we are in public places. It stands up well to repeated washings (I do not put vests in the dryer). Would recommend to anyone with a legitimate service animal.

This product arrived early and I was very pleased to find the patches were exactly what I was hoping for. The quality is great and the size is as stated in the ad. I am very pleased with this item and the company.

This excellent, clear patch explains to thoughtful people that my dog is a helper dog & they should ask to pet. Some folks just rush right up to pet, however. Shouldn't there be a patch that says "Back off, stupid, Can't you see I'm a helper Dog?" ... just kidding -- sort of.
