The only thing holding this great little product back from a full-throated, five-star review is the puny pen included. Granted, a pen is included, most items like this a buyer is not so lucky. Having said that you can always swap out the puny pen for another of your own choosing, but with one caveat, the pen has to be small, and thin in order for the cover to close back up. I choose one of Lamy's Pico, retractable ballpoint pens, and while the cover doesn't close completely; near enough for me. The only other small gripe is the white ID tag inside, which is super annoying and very hard to excise with a pair of scissors. Be careful when cutting off the tag you don't accidentally nip the inside of the notebook.It's a great little notebook to have in your pocket when you head out, the cover feels like butter and the paper pad inside does the trick (refills are available through Amazon too). Great price-point. Buy one and give it a spin.

This is just what I needed. I always carry a notepad and pen in my pocket, and this works beautifully. I lost my first one, and replaced it with one of the same after much research. It is small enough to always carry, yet just large enough to take notes comfortably. I don't use the pen that comes with it or the suggested refills. For paper refills, I use, as one other reviewer suggested:Ampad 20-208 Evidence 3" x 5" Narrow Perforated(snug, but fits fine). I also use just about any ball point pen (with a clip) or mechanical pencil. Depending on the size of the pen used, it may stick out the top of the notepad a little, but that has never been a problem for me. The small pockets on the front flap are very useful. I would or will buy again, and highly recommend this terrific product.
