I really love the idea of this knife - It just does not meet expectations
I'm an amateur collector of pocket knives. I paid about $117 with shipping for this knife. I've paid more for knives and less for knives, but when a knife gets up into that price range, I have fairly high expectations. This knife did not meet my expectations.First the good: This is a beautiful knife. The style of the knife is eye-catching. The buffalo horn scales are fitted perfectly and polished to a beautiful shine. The overall look of the knife is distinct. These are the reasons I bought the knife in the first place. Now the bad: The first thing I noticed wrong with the knife when I opened the blade was that the logo on the blade was not stamped evenly. It was heavy on the sides and top and weak toward the middle and bottom. A bit of a disappointment, but not a huge deal. Then I noticed that the blade did not fully fold down into the case. The tip was exposed along with about 0.6cm of the cutting edge. The bottom of the case curves up and offers some protection from the protruding tip, but with only a small amount of pressure, my finger catches on the tip. This is a big deal to me. It is a safety concern and unacceptable in a relatively expensive "hand made" knife. The next thing I noticed while inspecting the blade is that it was actually bent. It looks like they did not support the blade adequately from the back-side when stamping the logo. Whaaat? That seems like a no-brainer. Who wants a bent blade on their new knife? At this point I'm extremely disappointed and start to inspect it more closely. I found a few more minor defects that I would not expect to find on a well-made knife. One was that they put a decorative cross with five tiny pins around one of the large pins holding the scale to the frame. The cross was off-center and crooked. The other was that the decorative grooves on the bolsters were not consistent in width and color.Check out the pictures and judge for yourself.I really love the idea of this knife. It just does not live up to it's potential. I'll likely return it.Update: I requested a return and was refunded the full purchase price plus shipping, so I'm upgrading to three stars. I've been treated more than fair by the seller. Maybe I just got a defective one that made it through QA.

Great knife. Corkscrew maybe not durable enough.
Good knife. I had a problem with the corkscrew. Very responsive product support, They paid for round trip shipping back to France and fixed or replaced it (I can't quite tell which). It is fine now. There is a broad range of quality of Laguiole knives, all the way from machine made in China, to completely hand made in the village of Laguiole, France from domestic/local materials. This knife from Laguiole Actiforge says it is handmade in France (but not in Laguiole) from high quality domestic materials. The issue with a simple corkscrew like this is that it has no mechanism for leverage, so you have to pull really hard, and wiggle it around a bit. After using it maybe 6-10 times, the base/spring part became loose and wobbly. Probably it should be used infrequently, only for "back-up", and with great care not to apply side-to-side forces on it.I question the wisdom of combining a top-quality folding knife suitable for daily use for decades or multiple generations, with a chancy/vulnaerable corkscrew that breaks if used too much.

The pictures online only tell you so much.
Bought this as a Christmas present for someone who appreciates a good knife. Now I wish I bought one for myself as well. Great craftsmanship all the way! Very well made knife which is intended to be used. Arrived quickly and was exactly as described. Laguiole was never copyrighted, so there are a lot of inferior products out there using the Laguiole name, so itโs important to buy from a reputable source. I recommend this seller if your unable to actually make it to France for the real thing. Great gift for dads, sons, grandpas, and just about anyone else who likes a nice pocketknife and wine. Much better to actually hold and see in person than I imagined from the pictures. Definitely recommend!

and the quality was excellent. Of all the knives I've ever owned
This is the second knife I've bought from Laguiole Actiforge. In both instances the delivery took less time than expected, the product was well-packaged, and the quality was excellent. Of all the knives I've ever owned, these are my favorites.

Good knife and corkscrew yo
Good knife. A lot of knives with small corkscrews end up being useless (the corkscrew part) but this one has a crease going around it so it aceitai grabs the cork instead of just shredding it
