Good spray gun filters
Worked fine in my el cheapo gun and kept the little lumps of crud out of the finish. These are quite fine so whatever you're spraying has to be on the thinner side but most poly finishes should be good.

Perfect for my cheap HVLP gun from Woodcraft
I use a cheap (~$50) HVLP gun from Woodcraft, made by Wood River, and these fit perfectly. After a few coats of poly, the filter usually starts to clog, causing the poly to barely come out and the coats too thin. Just swap out this filter and things work great again with coats as thick as I want them.If they are too snug to get into the HVLP gun, I just gently rub the outside of them on some 220 grit sandpaper and they slide right in.
