Tough price but the quality is there to back it up.
These are the perfect blend of protection, comfort and performance. As a high ranking adult, I had to upgrade from the "starter" Century sealed foam set. Those that have worn them know they're difficult to perform in once you spar at a higher level. I've suffered too many ankle-to-elbow injuries to go with just instep pads, despite my peers going that route. The padding is dense yet supple, it takes some time to break them in, meaning, they wont bend nicely near the toe knuckles until you get a few hours in them, I recommend wearing them around the house for a couple days before you hit the mats. They're very snug and can be difficult to put on in a hurry but once you're in - it's perfect. The big toe strap is something I thought I wouldn't use but once you put it on you realize it gives you a superior level of control and protection. This helps me spar better knowing I can throw whatever style kick and be covered. The price was steep but I couldn't image going with anything else.

Nice Pads
The footpads fit well and are well made. The only downside to them is that they are hard compared to dipped pads. They offer the wearer good protection but could hurt your opponent worse and add more impact to your ankles than softer dipped pads. Overall I think they are some good foot pads and they should soften some over time!

Why did I wait so long
These sparring boots are excellent. They actually fit. They protect the toes perfectly (because they don't twist on your foot) and they feel more like light weight shoes instead of floppy pads on top of the foot. They take some getting used to because they fit snug. I hesitated originally with the price, but now that I have them I can say they are well worth the money. I wear a 10.5 wide in street shoes and I went with the Large in these.

Finally High Quality Foot Pads!
These are a welcome addition to my sparring gear. I have been looking for a quality pair of food pads ever since i wore out an older version of Century pads a couple years ago, and the newer ones wear out too quickly. I wasted considerable amounts on pairs of molded foam that never lasted 6 months. These pads are high quality and well designed. Our TKD club is stepping up our sparring training for spring tournaments and I'll provide and update later on how well these stand some wear and tear.

Good concept, but fails to deliver on large feet
Let me just start this review with the statement that I have big ol feet, size 14 feet are hard to find good sparing kicks for. These boots had promise, but sadly did not pan out. When you have larger feet, foot guards tend to leverage away from your foot as you straighten the foot out for kicks, leaving your toes and toe joints exposed to receive an errant elbow or knee. The toe straps on these boots led me to believe that they might help with this problem, but unfortunately they fail at the task. If you look at the image of the boots, you will see that the toe straps are attached right along the center-line of the boot, this makes it quite unpleasant to wear, and after a few rounds my toes had already torn them loose and the boots were once again free. This was very light sparing, I am doubtful that the attachment points would have held up under even a few full force kicks.Perhaps it is simply an issue of the design not being tested enough for larger feet, I couldn't say because I obviously can not test them with magically smaller feet than what I have on me. Regardless, I do not recommend these if you have larger feet.

Better than most in the price range
Work very well. Well made. The toe elastic feels a bit a uncomfortable at start. In the end, my son got used to that.

Terrific for sparring
Love these. I will say that with size 12 (and wide) feet, the XL size is still just barely a good fit and I have to fight to get them on; but once on, they are very comfortable, protect my feet well, and I can move in them far better than those old foam-dipped disasters.
